The introduction of advanced wireless networks like 5G and 6G is predicted to enhance efficiency, bring a data revolution, and enable investigations in virtual reality, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. The educational, industrial, and scientific domains are changing as a result of advancements like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Electric Vehicles (EVs), and developing healthcare technology. A faster and more seamless connection will facilitate more meaningful collaborations across the globe.

There are various challenges and opportunities posed by new and emerging Technologies such as NMIMS Mumbai Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME), which hosted the ‘Academic Conclave - Sensing and Data Acquisition; 5G/6G Research; Electric Vehicle Testing’ on 22 December 2023 in collaboration with National Instruments (NI), VVDN Technologies, and Math Works. Eminent industry leaders, Mr. Priyachandar P, Country Head (Indirect), NI India; Mr. Rajat Kumar, Academic Programme Manager India, VVDN Technologies, and Dr Praful Pai, Manager, EECS, Signal Processing and Communications, MathWorks, graced the occasion.

The meeting encouraged universities to update their curriculums, keep up with the advanced technology, and modify their programs to satisfy industrial demands. According to Prof. Dattatray Sawant, The National Institutes of Health Academic meeting said from the outset that it provided researchers and professors with access to state-of-the-art resources, training, and insights into industry demands. It also provided a networking opportunity for academic institutions and faculty to develop positive collaborations.

The educational summit included talks and debates about the newest products, services, and technology that are intended to improve education and research. This platform was specifically designed to bring together engineering institutions, researchers, faculty, and enthusiastic students to engage in meaningful talks regarding intricate technologies and get a thorough knowledge of their applicability in academic and research settings.

Speakers at the event made the case that important adjustments to engineering education are necessary in light of technological advancements. To keep students and faculty up to date on the most recent developments in the industry and improve their teaching and research endeavors, higher education institutions need to implement specialized courses, encourage faculty and researchers to work on projects that explore the capabilities and applications of these emerging technologies and integrate engineering curriculum with subjects like 5G and 6G technologies, EV design, ADAS development, and healthcare technology.

Industry experts spoke about the possible job prospects that might arise in many areas as a result of technology improvements at the event. They recommended that engineering majors look into possible careers as EV System Integration Engineers, Vehicle Testing Engineers, Electric Vehicle Design Engineers, Electric Powertrain Engineers, Charging Infrastructure Specialists, and more.
