NMIMS Mumbai handles admission to management, engineering, pharmacy, law, design, and science programmes through its own merit process. MBA admission is based only on NMAT by GMAC, while B.Tech admission uses NCET and BBA admission uses NPAT.

The institute does not use any central counselling authority for seat allotment. Students are selected through NMIMS entrance rules, merit lists, and programme-wise counselling conducted by the university.

Admission Update:

MBA 2027-29 batch: The NMIMS MBA 2027 application has been extended till October 25, 2026. The NMAT 2026 exam window is November 5 to December 19, 2026 (Tentative). Stage 2, including Competency Test and PI, is expected from February to March 2027 (Tentative).
B.Tech and BBA 2027: NCET 2026 and NPAT 2026 ended in June 2026. NCET 2027 and NPAT 2027 registrations are expected from January 2027 (Tentative).
Law 2027: CLAT 2027 registration is open till October 31, 2026. Students should check consortiumofnlus.ac.in for live CLAT 2027 updates.

No management quota: NMIMS states that there is "No admission based on capitation." Seats are allotted on merit only.
Female diversity seats for MBA: 30% of MBA seats are reserved for female candidates across NMIMS campuses.
MBA entrance rule: NMAT is the only exam accepted for full-time MBA admission at NMIMS Mumbai. CAT, XAT, GMAT, and CMAT are not accepted.
MBA Business Analytics and Digital Transformation: Students must have Mathematics or Statistics as a compulsory subject in graduation.
MBA Pharmaceutical Management: Students need a background in pharmacy, life sciences, or medicine, such as B.Pharm, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Microbiology.
NMAT attempts: A student can take NMAT up to 3 times, and the highest score is used for shortlisting.

NMIMS Mumbai B.Tech Admission 2027

Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, also called MPSTME, conducts B.Tech admission at NMIMS Mumbai. Students must take NCET, the NMIMS Common Entrance Test. JEE Main scores are not accepted at any NMIMS campus for this process. International and NRI students can submit SAT or ACT scores instead of NCET.

NMIMS Mumbai B.Tech Selection Process 2027

NMIMS prepares the final B.Tech merit list by giving equal importance to the entrance score and Class 12 marks.

Merit formula: 50% weightage is given to NCET and 50% to Class 12 PCM aggregate marks.
NCET format: The computer-based test runs for 120 minutes and has Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Logical Intelligence, and Language Proficiency. There is no negative marking.
Attempts: Students get one main attempt and up to 2 retakes in a cycle. The highest score is considered.
Counselling: NMIMS conducts online counselling, where students select campus and branch preferences.
NRI and international route: SAT or ACT may replace NCET. Students must contact NMIMS admissions for the NRI process and fee details.

How to Apply for B.Tech at NMIMS Mumbai?

Register on the NMIMS NCET portal and book the test date.
Take NCET and check the score when the result is released.

NMIMS Mumbai BBA Selection Process 2027

Merit basis: Selection is based only on NPAT score. NMIMS does not conduct a group discussion or personal interview for BBA.
NPAT format: The test covers Proficiency in English Language, Quantitative and Numerical Ability, and Reasoning and General Intelligence.
Attempts: Students can schedule multiple attempts in the same cycle, and the best score is used.
Counselling: Seat allotment depends on NPAT rank and the programme preference filled by the student.

NMIMS Mumbai Law Admission 2027

NMIMS School of Law, Mumbai admits students to BA LLB (Hons.) and BBA LLB (Hons.), both of which are 5-year integrated law programmes. Students can apply through CLAT, conducted by the CLAT Consortium, or through NLAT, the NMIMS Law Admission Test.

NMIMS Mumbai Law Selection Process 2027

CLAT route: Students take CLAT 2027 and apply to NMIMS with the CLAT score. Seat allotment depends on CLAT rank and the NMIMS internal cutoff.
NLAT route: NMIMS conducts NLAT as another route for law admission. Students who meet the NLAT cutoff can be considered for admission.
Merit-based allotment: The final seat is allotted through CLAT or NLAT rank and the programme preference filled by the student.
No interview: NMIMS Mumbai does not conduct a group discussion or personal interview for law admission.

NMIMS Mumbai MBA Admission 2027

SBM NMIMS Mumbai offers MBA Core, MBA Human Resources, MBA Business Analytics, MBA Digital Transformation, and MBA Pharmaceutical Management for the 2027-29 batch. Across all 5 MBA options, NMAT by GMAC is the only accepted entrance test. Shortlisted students must attend the Competency Assessment Test and Personal Interview at the NMIMS Mumbai campus in Stage 2.

NMIMS Mumbai MBA Selection Process 2027

MBA admission follows 3 stages. NMIMS does not hold a group discussion round. The Competency Assessment Test has the highest weight in the final composite score.

Stage 1: Students must clear NMAT by GMAC with the required overall score and minimum sectional score in Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
Stage 2 shortlist: NMIMS releases the shortlist based on NMAT performance. Only shortlisted students move to Stage 2 at the Mumbai campus.
Stage 2 test: The Competency Assessment Test is computer-based and lasts 60 to 90 minutes. It covers Verbal Ability, Mental Ability, and Managerial Ability. There is no negative marking.
Stage 2 interview: The Personal Interview lasts 15 to 20 minutes and is held at the NMIMS campus. It checks motivation, goals, and fit for the programme.
Final merit: NMIMS prepares a composite score using NMAT score, Competency Test score, PI performance, academic record, and work experience. The exact weightage for the 2027-29 batch is given in the official NMAT Admission Handout at nmat.nmims.edu.
Female diversity: 30% of seats are reserved for female candidates.
Work experience: Full-time work experience of at least 6 months receives positive weightage. Internships and project work are not counted.

How to Apply for MBA at NMIMS Mumbai?

Register on the GMAC portal at nmat.org, pay the NMAT registration fee, and schedule the test.
Appear for NMAT. Students can take up to 3 attempts in one cycle, and NMIMS uses the highest score.
Complete the NMIMS Step 2 application at nmat.nmims.edu. This is separate from GMAC registration and has its own deadline.
Select the preferred MBA programme and campus on the NMIMS portal, pay the NMIMS application fee, and upload documents.

NMIMS Mumbai LLM Admission 2027

NMIMS also offers LLM programmes in 6 specialisations. These PG law programmes follow a separate admission process from the integrated UG law courses.

For students comparing non-IIM business schools, SBM NMIMS Mumbai is often compared with XLRI Jamshedpur and MDI Gurgaon. The main difference is the entrance test and the Stage 2 selection method used by each institute for the 2027-29 cycle.

NMIMS Mumbai Scholarships

NMIMS Mumbai offers need-cum-merit scholarships. To qualify, students must meet both academic performance and family income conditions.

Eligibility: The student must score above the 80th percentile in the qualifying entrance exam, and the family annual income must be below INR 6 lakh.
Amount for UG students: INR 1,000 per month.
Amount for PG students: INR 2,000 per month.
How to apply: Students must submit the scholarship form and income documents to the NMIMS admissions office after receiving the provisional admission offer.
External scholarships: Students may also apply through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.

Ques. Which entrance test should I take for a full-time MBA at NMIMS Mumbai?

Ans. NMIMS Mumbai accepts only NMAT by GMAC for all full-time MBA programmes. CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, and GMAT are not accepted. Students must first register for NMAT through the GMAC portal and then complete the separate NMIMS Step 2 application at nmat.nmims.edu.

MBA HR at SBM, NMIMS

What I Liked

The Faculty is very supportive and knowledgeable with many professor having taught at prestigious institution like IIM A, ISB. They are also very supportive always willing to help you personally and in professional life
The corporate exposure and opportunity that one gain through summer Internship, corporate projects and Internship
The canteen and atrium are my favorite place on campus. The atmosphere feels like a vibrant food court offering a wide variety of food option. Additionally there is a piano at the center of atrium accessible to anyone who want to play it

What I didn’t like

Its only one building with no playing grounds, As a result whenever we want to play any sports we have to book a ground which mean additional expense
The Batch size is too big, so faculty cannot focus on each and every student
Even though Hostel facilities are available, they are too expensive and located 1.5 km away from college

Remarks:

I applied to other colleges as well, but this was my best call, also nmims being located at a prime location give you access to ample corporate opportunities, but still I would suggest you to prepare better in cat and get into IIMs or a better college. The admission process this year has been changed, a competency assessment would be conducted carrying a weightage of 50% followed by PI

What I Liked

Faculties are very helpful and you get freedom to do things too.
They treat you like adults and everyone behaves in a proffesional manner

What I didn’t like

There’s no campus, just a 8 floor building which looks pretty good but thats it.

Remarks:

I was very much interested in pursuing economics as my bachelors. NMIMS had the best course structure. Written test was conducted which is common for all NMIMS courses. Cut off is high for Mumbai main campus.

All you need to know about NMIMS

What I Liked

I love the campus of the college as the college has a crawling campus in the middle of Vile Parle Juhu. It is well equipped with excellent Auditorium and canteen, which has all types of food
The college has an excellent library where you can often find student studying and reading books. All types of books and content is available here and one can feel free to borrow as per the requirements.

What I didn’t like

what I dislike about the College is that there is a bit pressure from academic point of you as the college lays high emphasis on academic rigour
Since the College is placed right in the middle of the city, there is an absence of focus on sports, and there is no football ground or other sports available in the campus

Remarks:

there is a common entrance exam for admission in this college which is known as NPAT. It is out of 120 marks and is a 100 minutes test. You are allotted admission based on your rank in this particular exam, a higher rank leads to admission in the main campus, which is in Mumbai, otherwise, there are several other campuses all over India.

The brand name ... Honestly Narsee Monjee Institute Of Mangaement studies is known for management college so why not have a brand name on your certificate. And thought they might have more to give on my cv so why not

Remarks:

The factors were that I was getting my desired stream with the same level of teaching as an IIT or nit student. The required percentage for entering is just above 50% with a moderately set up entrance test paper pattern.

What I Liked

The infrastructure is great, very well structured however not a lot of space for outdoor campus. The faculty is overall good however can be improved more. The campus in general is fun, with a lot of social engagement with other students. Various events take place throughout the year which are great. Apart from these students can engage in various workshops which are very informative and interesting
I also like the fact that our college offers our degree in a comparatively affordable price compared to its standard brand value and other courses in the college with an emphasis on the biological field of psychology

What I didn’t like

I dislike the fact the college does not provide a big campus, due to a lack of space. No grounds are present for sports and that is overall an issue for students in the college. The college is also built in the middle of the city, which is very busy and has a lot of traffic around
Another aspect is the class allotment, it usually doens't happen in the main building of our college and classes are mostly assigned in the mithibai campus building. Which is a problem for several students.

Remarks:

The admission process for the course was based on an entrance test specific for the course which included general knowledge, psychology, reasoning, etc. Interviews were not held for admissions. The admission process was smooth with not a lot of issues. Preparation for these exams can be done online through YouTube and books. The level of the test is from easy to moderate. The good aspects of the college include good course, great engagement with extracurriculars and bad aspects include, A lack of campus grounds for sports and space in general.

Brief about NMIMS school of law

What I Liked

The law school recently got a building of its own so it's really good
Faculty is good as they are experienced.

What I didn’t like

NMIMS does not offer campus life as they have couple of buildings only
Nothing else to be honest because I like my college as of now

Remarks:

Getting admission into NMIMS School of law is very easy as you have to give NLAT which has the same paper pattern as clat and if you've prepared for clat then NLAT is going to be easy for you. The good aspect of my college is that it's situated in Mumbai and the teachers are really experienced and they were once students of some of the top nlus.
