The Globsyn Business School recently held its 21st Induction Program, where nearly 300 students from around the world who have been accepted for the class of 2022–24 were welcomed. With a history of innovation in management education spanning more than 20 years, GBS has attained a long-lasting impression in the minds of millions of students across the globe.

On the first day of the five-day induction programme, Bikram Dasgupta, the founder and executive chairman of the Globsyn Group, Sandipan Chakravorty, the former managing director of Tata Ryerson and a member of the GBS Governing Council, Rahul Dasgupta, director and trustee of the school, and M. P. Singh, the principal, welcomed the new students to the GBS legacy in the presence of Ranjana Dasgupta.

Globsyn Group founder and executive chairman Bikram Dasgupta gave a speech during the event. He stated, “It was May 2002, when we started our journey in the field of management education. It has been quite a ride so far, sprinkled with lots of challenges, highs and lows; but with the support and cooperation of all our stakeholders, especially our students, we’ve scaled to our present height. Today, as we complete the 20th year of continuous innovation in management education, I take great pride in congratulating you, Batch 2022-24 on being a part of the Globsyn legacy.”

In addition to standing out from other business schools due to its association with multiple industry partners, GBS was founded by the eminent global entrepreneur Bikram Dasgupta and is run by the Dasgupta Family. Furthermore, it is guided by a team of talented and experienced professionals. GBS is also a leader when it comes to fusing technology and cutting-edge pedagogy with management education in order to optimize the skills and knowledge of its students.

As the global epidemic spread, the b-school had to implement some gradual changes in its programme delivery. The b-school has effectively carved out a space for itself on the worldwide industry-academia map and constructed a sustainable, technology-driven educational framework for future graduates by identifying opportunities to harness technology, enhance communications, and expedite operations. GBS has always prioritized innovative thinking with the relevant use of technology, taking care of the current needs, whether it be seamlessly switching from an offline to an online mode of programme delivery, from on-campus placement drives to offering virtual internships and getting offered desirable job opportunities, from a virtual admission process to authorizing diplomas on a more Secure Certificate Verification Platform.

Rahul Dasgupta, Director & Trustee of GBS, elaborated on this by saying, "At GBS, our priority has always been our students. We have worked with some of the finest companies and institutions worldwide in an effort to provide them with the best learning experience possible, using cutting-edge andragogy that transforms learning into a lifetime experience. Through a variety of initiatives, including management conferences, live projects, industry-academia integration, social welfare initiatives, and cultural events, we uphold the principle of "Learning Beyond Education." Our academic offering, which incorporates technology, worldwide affiliations, and a framework for practical learning, is one of the most relevant and in-demand postgraduate management programmes in the nation, in our opinion."

Rahul Dasgupta's interactive session, "Rethinking the MBA," which explored the idea of MBA education from a fresh angle, and an open forum of Q&A with the incoming batch's prospective managers marked the close of the opening day event.

Apart from the faculty, heads and members of various departments, and student council members of the B-school, the other four days of the induction programme featured esteemed speakers from the industry, including HR leaders, entrepreneurs, and start-up founders, members of regulatory bodies like AICTE, faculty from international universities, industry veterans from NHRDN (Kolkata Chapter), and some distinguished alumni.

GBS has always advocated in learning beyond the constraints of a traditional classroom but through time, this conviction has steadily been ingrained into the very DNA of what it stands for. GBS is based on Innovation, Research, and Technology. Within the last two decades, the GBS facility and all of its complementary and integrated Beyond Education components have assisted in shaping young brains into leaders who are kind, responsible, and well-informed about their industries in the global economy.
