GBS Kolkata offers three PG Program, namely PGDM, PGDM in Business Analytics, and MBA (Global)

GBS Kolkata offers PGDM as its flagship programme

Admission to the PGDM programme requires a minimum of 50% marks in graduation or an equivalent 50 percentile.
Candidates must appear for at least one national-level management entrance examination, as per AICTE norms, including CAT, , XAT, MAT, CMAT, or ATMA.
Preliminary selection is based on a 60-minute Globsyn Aptitude Test (GAT), which is followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

GBS Kolkata also offers MBA (Global) programme in collaboration with the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST). Admission requires a graduate degree and 50 percentile in CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, or ATMA. Selection is through GAT, GD, and PI.

Candidates can apply online through the official website by paying an application fee of INR 1,000, applicable to all categories.

Globsyn Business School Honest Review

What I Liked

infrastructure was neat and clean. xxxxxx
Campus life for me was good. But it depends entirely on you and who you spend your time with.
Some of the faculty were absolutely amazing. They are professors I will remember for life and will be keen to visit them frequently.

What I didn’t like

Faculty should have a more personalized approach with students. Most of the faculty have little knowledge outside academia and couldn't suggest ways to upskill during free time.
The behaviour of the support staff should improve. Most of the support staff behave as if they are doing the students a favour by assisting us with some issue, even though, they are actually paid do help us.
Campus is very far away from the city. It takes approximately 2 hours to travel one way. So each way is about 4 hours. That is a lot of time spent just travelling.
The quality of students were subpar in this college. I understand that the business school is a for profit organization, but if it allows anyone and everyone to enroll, then companies will be hesitant to visit in the future. There was a lack of discipline and work ethic. A break that was meant to be for only 10 min would extend to 20 min.
The program should be more practically oriented rather than academic oriented. It didn't feel like an MBA in my opinion. It just felt like college. If most of the jobs are sales-oriented, then students should be given sales training. Alumni should be invited to provide information as to what jobs are available in the market. What job do they currently do. How did they reach where they are. What mistakes did they make they wish they didn't make.

Remarks:

I had done MAT.GBS accepts all exam results. It also conducts its own exam called GAT. There was a GD round and a PI round.The GD round was with 8 other candidates.The topic was "Should one child policy be implemented in India".The PI round was with a single faculty member. Admission process was simple and easy.

Remarks:

The institute has well qualified teachers and the MBA and PGDM courses are completed within the 2 years duration.The students get proper training for corporate world. The entire management is well supportive and all classes are productive as well as time bound.We also got aptitude classes and computer classes as a part of our curriculum which are not available in many other colleges.

What I Liked

There was healthy competition and I met some very good people. I got to make friends for life thanks to the college.
This college has the best faculty who guides at every step. They are there to help us, guide us and prepare us for interviews.

What I didn’t like

I expected more in terms of placement, especially in the HR department.
More emphasis should be given on practical exposure rather than theoretical knowledge.
Equal attention from the point of view if placements should be given to departments like HR, just like marketing and finance.

Remarks:

The faculty, review from previous placed students, good reviews about the college. My coordinator was the instrumental person for my admission into this college. I had heard good things about the faculty and college life from her and it turned out to be true.

The college is located at the outskirts of the city which makes it difficult to travel.

Remarks:

Students will be shortlisted based on entrance exam results and after that, there will be rounds of GD and PI for admission, the college holds a record of 90% campus placement and the facilities are quite good too.

What I Liked

You will have lots of friends in the institution if you want to make and you will get support from the college if anything happens to you
Many activities are there beyond education which are interesting to do. College give you councilling if you want to do

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure is good but not that good as because many chairs are broken and if there is less students in the class then there will be a good bonding among students and faculty can concentrate on the students
Hostel is not with the campus it is far away from the institution

At first, you may feel stubborn but once you spend 1 month you will love the college. One of my friends was doing an MBA from Globsyn so from that I came to know about the college. Admission process MAT exam + globsyn entrance test+Interview.
