- Campus life for me was good. But it depends entirely on you and who you spend your time with.
- Some of the faculty were absolutely amazing. They are professors I will remember for life and will be keen to visit them frequently.
Dislikes
- Faculty should have a more personalized approach with students. Most of the faculty have little knowledge outside academia and couldn't suggest ways to upskill during free time.
- The behaviour of the support staff should improve. Most of the support staff behave as if they are doing the students a favour by assisting us with some issue, even though, they are actually paid do help us.
- Campus is very far away from the city. It takes approximately 2 hours to travel one way. So each way is about 4 hours. That is a lot of time spent just travelling.
- The quality of students were subpar in this college. I understand that the business school is a for profit organization, but if it allows anyone and everyone to enroll, then companies will be hesitant to visit in the future. There was a lack of discipline and work ethic. A break that was meant to be for only 10 min would extend to 20 min.
- The program should be more practically oriented rather than academic oriented. It didn't feel like an MBA in my opinion. It just felt like college. If most of the jobs are sales-oriented, then students should be given sales training. Alumni should be invited to provide information as to what jobs are available in the market. What job do they currently do. How did they reach where they are. What mistakes did they make they wish they didn't make.
Remarks :
I had done MAT.GBS accepts all exam results. It also conducts its own exam called GAT. There was a GD round and a PI round.The GD round was with 8 other candidates.The topic was "Should one child policy be implemented in India".The PI round was with a single faculty member. Admission process was simple and easy.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose PGDM over MBA since in PGDM I could get to choose both Marketing and Finance, whereas in MBA I had to choose International Business as a minor. I wasn't eligible to enroll for PGDM-BA as I had to have a science-oriented background, which I didn't.The term exams were held on time. The invigilation was strict, The question papers varied depending on the faculty teaching the course. Marketing exams were difficult, but finance was straightforward.
Placement Experience :
There is no eligibility criteria as such for the placement. The college maintains that only students having a CGPA above 5 will be allowed but that wasn't followed. Some of the companies that visited my year were Deloitte India, KPMG GS, PWC AC, EY GDS, AK Capital, Bajaj Consumer Care, Indiamart, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, etc. The highest was 13 lakhs for one student who got placed in Federal Bank. The average would be around 5 lakhs. The placement statistics were poor as the job market was tough. At the time of writing, there were still around 100 students unplaced. Placement for marketing students have been good, but the placement was mostly for sales roles and not marketing. Finance related roles were offered only to around 30 students. the reminaing finance students had to opt for sales of financial products. The placement for Operations and Business Analytics was almost non-existent.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Year wise fees: 4,17,500. No financial aid provided. Fees are collected in eight installments. Fees have increased by around 30k for the upcoming batch.Fees are comparatively higher compared to other B schools. Given the placement situation in East India, I find it difficult to justify the fees.
Campus Life :
The college holds an annual festival called Serendipity where students dance, sing, and enact a drama. This is organized entirely by the students. An annual sports tournament is organized called Titanium where sports such as Football, Volleyball, Tug of War, Badminton, etc. are held. Even non-sport events like Chess, Public Speaking and Treasure Hunt are also organized. The Globsyn Research Seminar is also conducted annually where students choose a topic related to a theme, and present an original research on it. The top teams are also chosen to write for the Globsyn Journal. There are two charity events held in summer and winter, where clothes and mangoes are distributed to underpriveledged children.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
