Remarks :
I take this institute because it is a government college with a affordable fee and good academic reputation which makes it a practical choice. The college also has experienced faculty.It's location in jalpaiguri ,West Bengal and admission through a state level exam.The admission process is based on the WBJEE. There is no Group Discussion, Personal Interview or separate written test conducted by the college. Admission is merit based, depending on the rank in WBJEE, followed by counseling. The cut off rank varies each year. For preparation I focused on the 11th and 12th syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics. Practicing previous year question papers and taking mock tests. The good aspects of the college include low fees, availability of scholarships, supportive faculty, and affordable hostel facilities. However, the drawbacks include no in campus placement opportunities, and infrastructure that is not as advanced as top private colleges. Overall, it offers good value for money.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the B.Pharm course because I am interested in the pharmaceutical field, drug development, and healthcare, and it offers good career opportunities in industry.The faculty members are generally well-qualified, with most holding M.Pharm or PhD degrees.However teaching is mostly traditional with limited or no use of advanced digital tools.exams are conducted on time according to the academic schedule, along with internal assessments and practical exams. The difficulty level of exams is moderate.Students who study regularly and attend classes can perform well without much difficulty.
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee for the B.Pharm course at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri is approximately 50000 rs to 54000 rs for the entire four year duration.In the first year, we have to pay around rs 20000,.which includes admission fees,tuition fees, registration fees, and a refundable caution deposit of rs 1000.although you don't get that refundable 1000 rs in your hand,it will merge to your next semester fee.The hostel fee is around rs 3000 including food charges per month. The fee structure is almost the same for all categories.But students from reserved categories benefit from scholarships. Scholarships available include the Oasis Scholarship and Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Scholarships.That offers rs 12,000 to rs 60,000 per year for eligible students also other scholarships are available.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus of the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri is simple, affordable, and student friendly. The social life is moderate.The library has essential pharmacy books.Classrooms are basic but functional with proper seating, blackboards and necessary lab facilities for practical learning.Sports and extracurricular activities are available, including cricket, football, badminton but not in campus.Overall campus life is decent and focused more on academics than extensive extracurricular exposure.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri is affordable and suitable for students from outside the city. The hostel infrastructure is basic but functional, with shared rooms, common washrooms, and essential facilities like water and electricity. To apply for a hostel, students need to fill out a hostel application form during admission or shortly after, and rooms are allotted based on availability and priority.The hostel fee is around 3000 rs per month including food.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
