Undergraduate admission takes place through WBCAP, the West Bengal state-level centralised admission system available at dap.wbcap.in. More than 38 courses are offered at the undergraduate level in Arts, Science, and Commerce. The programmes follow NEP 2020, while fees are set under the government-aided structure.

NEP 2020 allows students to complete a four-year Honours with Research route or leave after three years with a three-year Honours degree. Multidisciplinary study also permits combinations of electives from different streams. The Morning, Day, and Evening shifts increase the combined intake of the departments.

All undergraduate applications are handled through the West Bengal government’s centralised system at dap.wbcap.in. Students cannot submit a separate application directly to the college. Admission is based on Class 12 merit and the eligibility rules of the selected course.

BA and B.Com Admissions

A pass in Class 12 from a recognised board is required for BA and B.Com. BA (Hons.) courses in English, Bengali, Hindi, History, Political Science, and Philosophy usually require an aggregate of 45% to 50%, with preference given to students who studied the relevant subject. B.Com (Hons.) generally needs Commerce in Class 12 and an aggregate of at least 45%. In the first merit list, English Honours commonly has a cutoff between 70% and 80%, while less competitive Honours subjects close at lower percentages.

B.Sc Admissions

Applicants need the relevant Class 12 science group for B.Sc (Hons.). PCM is required for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Science, while PCB applies to Zoology and Food and Nutrition. The required minimum in the relevant subject group is 45%. Because seats are limited and demand is increasing, the first-list cutoff for B.Sc (Hons.) Computer Science generally falls between 60% and 70%. B.Sc (General) applicants must have studied the subjects included in their chosen combination.

Selection Process and Document Verification

Students can complete the process in the following order:

1. Register on the WBCAP website and enter the required personal and academic information.
2. Select up to 25 programme choices across participating colleges.
3. Wait for WBCAP to calculate a merit index from Class 12 marks and release merit lists in rounds.
4. Accept the allotted seat within the stated time limit.
5. Visit the college for physical document verification and complete admission before the deadline.

Students must bring their Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, recent passport-size photographs, and a category certificate when applicable.
