AJC Bose College Admission Process
WBCAP manages merit-based admission to the college's B.A., B.Sc., B.Com and BBA courses. Selection for these undergraduate programmes depends on Class 12 marks, and the college does not conduct a separate entrance test. B.Ed applicants follow a different route based on the West Bengal B.Ed Common Entrance Test, also known as WB B.Ed CET.
B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com / BBA (Hons. and General)
- Basic qualification: Applicants must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board.
- Honours requirement: A minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying examination is needed for honours courses.
- Science subject requirement: Students applying for B.Sc. Honours need PCM or PCB at the 10+2 level, according to their chosen subject.
- Selection method: WBCAP prepares merit rankings entirely from Class 12 percentages.
- Admission sequence: Students register on WBCAP, enter course choices, check the merit list, accept a seat allotment, complete document verification, pay the fee and enrol.
Previous General Category cutoffs for B.A. (Hons.) English have been between 88% and 93%. The historical range is 85% to 92% for B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science and 80% to 88% for B.Com (Hons.). These WBCAP-based ranges can change with the year, admission phase and applicant category.
B.Ed
- Basic qualification: Graduation in a relevant subject with at least 50% marks is required.
- Selection method: Applicants are selected through their WB B.Ed CET scores, followed by centralised counselling and college allocation.
- Approval: The B.Ed course at AJC Bose College is recognised by the NCTE.
- Admission sequence: Applicants register for WB B.Ed CET, take the examination, check the result, attend counselling, receive a college allotment, verify their documents and complete enrolment.
