Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose College Review

What I Liked

I really like how helpful the faculty is in the college.
The college infrastructure is among the best in commerce colleges in Kolkata.

What I didn’t like

I don't have dislikes regarding the faculty as most of them are amazing.
The college closes in the evening, which can be a negative point for those looking to study in the library all evening.

Placement Experience:

There are a lot of internships throughout the duration of the course, with 1 or 2 every year. I personally am planning on pursuing MBA after graduation, although most of the students get placed from the college itself.

Remarks:

I always wanted to pursue Finance, and this college is one the best commerce colleges in Kolkata. I had a really good 12th board results, so I didn't have much difficulty getting in, but the admission is done via 12th board results.

What I Liked

Teacher behaviour and regularity of classes
Facilities for us to avail in our college life

What I didn’t like

Union is a manageable issue in the college
The surrounding of the campus is not so big but the building is very big .

Placement Experience:

Recently we are given the chance in Ardent Computer Limited company it is an MSME company as our internship program. We are giving the chance of digital marketing skill from an reputed company

I choose this college as it's near me house and some of my seniors also referred me this college. Due to good behaviour of teachers And the faculty we get during our college life which includes each and everything

Horrific adventure

What I Liked

The college library is good, it has wifi facility and good amount of books to access
The faculty members are quite decent, the head of the department of commerce section is the best

What I didn’t like

The college campus is worst, having nothing for students engagement
The college doesn't have any program or social events which is quite disappointing

Placement Experience:

The college doesn't give placements, it's just your own caliber through which you can get internship, don't expect anything in return from this college, rather if possible don't take admission here, stay at home it's better.

Remarks:

Our admission was through centralized admission portal which was new to us and there we had to make list of colleges and get selected so unfortunately I got selected here, it is not my fav college or the college I wanted too

Life of AJCBC

What I Liked

Regular cultural events, seminars and competition keep the campus lively.
The curriculum is structured as per one of the most reputed universities in the region.

What I didn’t like

Structured placments and internship support may not be as robust as in more resource rich colleges.
Science and computer labs while functional might need upgrades to stay on par with modern standards .

Placement Experience:

Placements are low just like other colleges, but student who scored good marks in their semester exams and have really good skill might have good chance of getting jobs . The students can also become the a member of our union (faculty members).

Remarks:

I didn't give any type of exams or interview. Students can apply from admission portals through which they can get thier admission done . Its a government website which help students to fill their forms online .

Review of college

What I Liked

Good infrastructure and comfortable area
Good and well maintained benches and food items available

What I didn’t like

The behavior of students present in the union
The staffs often misbehave with the students

Placement Experience:

They provide good placements and job opportunities and passing out from this college. The student must be eligible to get the placements. The highest package got by one of the students is 5lakhs. Almost 65% of the students got placements after they pass out.

Remarks:

I choose this college because it is near my house and many students who passed from this college got good job opportunities. There is no group discussions and interviews for getting admission in this college. Admission is just got by seeing marks of class 12.

A small review about my college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculties are top notch, their teaching styles are wonderful But there's only one problem the college stays closed most of the time but overall good for students like me studying for CMA degree alongside

Remarks:

I thought of studying in a college having no issues with less attendance and was having a hard time choosing it. As far as I know being a second year student our college doesn't have issues with attendance. Moreover someone with less percentage in their class 12th can also get a chance to study in this college

Our college:)

What I didn’t like

The faculty is a top notch but the only con is that the college stays closed most of the time and perfect for students like us pursuing CA/CS/CMA alongwith their graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty members are top notch and the examinations are conducted by Calcutta University itself except the internals (which are conducted by the college itself )..the Internals are taken at proper time

Remarks:

Our college is a bit costly so I'm giving it a 8 star. But honestly the college is the best according to me. If you're a commerce student and thinking of pursuing CA/CS/CMA alongwith your graduation..yes you're at the right college. Don't even think twice go for it

ACHARYA JAGDISH CHANDRA BOSE COLLEGE IS ONE OF THE BEST COLLEGE TO PURSUE UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN KOLKATA AFFLIATED WITH UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA . THERE ARE MANY OF THE THINGS WHICH ATTRACT ME OF THE COLLEGE . FIRSTLY , THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE COLLEGE IS VERY PLEASANT , CLASSROOMS ARE FURNISHED AND HYGENIC . CAMPUS IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND HUGE . SECONDLY , THE TEACHERS AND PROFESSORS OF THIS COLLEGE ARE HIGHLY EDUCATED AND INTERACT VERY WELL WITH THE STUDENTS WHICH MAKES A DIFFERENT PLACE THAN OTHERS .
THE ANOTHER FACT THAT I LIKE THE COLLEGE IS FOR ITS CULTURAL HERITAGE . STEDENTS AND TEACHERS COMBINES THIER EFFORTS TO MAKE EACH THE CULTURAL PROGRAM FANTASTIC AND MORE WHICH ARE BEYOND WORDS . BEYOND EVER LIKIKNGS THERE ARE CERTAIN DISLIKINGS ALSO WHICH I HAVE TO THE COLLEGE . FIRSTLY , THERE ARE OFTEN CASES OF COLLEGE FIGHTS , POLITICAL INVOLVEVMENT AND SOME OTHER PROBLEMS WHICH I DISLIKE THE MOST ABOUT THE COLLEGE AND COLLEGE AUTORITES ARE CONSTANTLY UNABLE TO FIND WAYS TO PREVENT IT . SECONDLY , THE COLLEGE DOES NOT PROVIDES FACILITIES OF HOSTEL ACCOMODATION , STUDENTS NEEDS TO FIND OUT PRIVATE ACCOMODATION FOR THEMSELVES .
THE COLLEGE HAS A HGH ATTENDANCE CRITERIA WITH NON- FULFILLMENT LEADS TO CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION FOR EXAMINATIONS . THERE ARE CERTAIN STRICT GUIDELINES ON ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS . THE COLLEGE DOES NOT PROVIDES FLEXIBLE SHIFTS FOR STUDENTS I.E SHIFTS SHOULD TAKE PLACE ACCORDING TO COLLEGE NOTICE . LASTLY , WHICH DISAPPOINT ME THE MOST OF THE COLLEGE ARE IT DOS NOT PROVIDE INTERNSHPS FACILITIES TO STUDENTS AND DOES NOT ORGANISE PLACEMENTS TO ITS STUDENTS . JOB OPPURTUINITIES ARE VERY LOW FROM THIS COLLEGE WHICH IT COMES TO CAMPUS PLACEMENTS . THESE ARE SOE OF THE FACTS WHICH I DISLIKE ABOUT ACHARYA JAGADISH CHANDRA BOSE COLLEGE .

Placement Experience:

ACAHRYA JAGADISH CHANDRA BOSE COLLEGE IS A FAMOUS COLLEGE AND QUITE REPUTED ALSO . BUT PLACEMNTS FACILITIES ARE QUITE POOR ARE USUALLY DOES NOT OCCUR IN THIS COLLEGE . YEARS AGO RECRUITERS LIKE PWC , FLIPKART BANDHAN BANK USED TO COME BUT NOWADAYS WHILE REMEMBERING THE FACT , OF HIGH POSSIBILITIES OF UNEMPLOYMENT PLACEMENTS DOES NOT OCCUR . GENARALLY , IN ORDER TO JOB THESE DAYS REQUIRES HIGH POTENTIAL AND UNLIMITED NUMBERS OF SOFT SKILLS . IF A PERSON ACQUIRES THOSE REQUIRED SKILLS THEN THAT MAKES A HIGHER PROBABILITY OF GETTING JOB . THE COLLEGE USED TO EARLIER PROVIDE PLACEMNTS TO STUDENTS RANGING FROM 100000 - 250000 . I HAD CERTAIN PLANS TO GO FOR MASTERS AFTER GRADUATION.

Remarks:

ADMISSION FOR THE YEAR 2024 HAS TOTALLY TAKEN PLACE VIA WBCAP.IN WHICH IS NEWLY INTRODUCED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL TO EASE THE ADMISSION PROCESS OF UNDERGRADUATE COURCES ON GOVERNMENT AIDED COLLEG ON ALL OVER WEST BENGAL . THE PROCESS OF ADMISSION WAS TOTALLY BASED ON CUT-OFF , AND RESERVATION . NO WRITTEN EXAMS OR GENARAL DISCUSSION PROCESS HAD TAKEN PLACE . THE GOOD ASPECTS OF THE COLLEG ARE IT HAS A LARGE CAMPUS , A WELL LOCATED AREA WHICH OFFERS EASE IN THE TRANSPORTATION PROCESS , GOOD FACILITIES FOR EDUCATION , OFFERS MULTIPLE COURCES WITH A LARGE NUMBERS OF SEATING CAPACITIES , KNOWN FOR MULTIDISCIPLINARY TASKS AND EXTRA CURRCULAR ACTIVITIES . BEING MAJORLY GOOD THERE ARE CERTAIN NEGATIVE ASPECTS ALSO , WHICH ARE OFTEN FIGHTS TAKE PLACE AMONG SENIORS BETWEEN SOME ISSUES , LESS INTOLERANCE IN POLITICAL ISSUES .

The College is totally worth it

What I Liked

The Library has a very good ambience and it is tidy and clean which makes the library very eye pleasing
The Classrooms are ventilated and very spacious with good benches

What I didn’t like

The college's Canteen is still under renovation
The college doesn't have any auditorium yet so I think they should make one

Placement Experience:

There are alot of placement opportunities and they also have scholarship and internship opportunities. Which is very important for students who are goal oriented, the college has build a really good trust on the students.

Remarks:

The college has a very affordable fee structure like usually colleges have a rule of submitting the fees semester wise that is after every 6 months, but this college has yearly payment of fees which is affordable for me.

What I Liked

College teacher are friendly and me myself having a bright college life and made many frnd but last not much🤣
College building are big so there are many space for students to chill out and enjoy and there is also smart education system applied in our college

What I didn’t like

College is really big building compromising old and new building but there is no official hall in college when new activity were use to come up it use to come up in big diff room
No preference is given under internship and co curriculum activity that much not much exposure is given

Placement Experience:

Our college life was stuck half in the corona period so half was only and the other half offline so the placement and job opportunities were not given high priority for students there were some but none so big and different hopefully they should give more focus on this also.

Remarks:

Pros -it's a grade college at Calcutta university and the campus is also wide campus authority is helpful, The college earns so much still no concert happened in our term no farewell nothing, and no ground for sports.
