- I would say that I liked the infrastructure. I wasn't something luxurious but a decent one as it includes every necessary thing in it.
- The second thing maybe the social events like Saraswati puja celebration as it includes everyone and it provides the students an opportunity to enjoy along with studies.
Dislikes
- It would be wrong if I say that I disliked something but maybe I didn't like the faculty much. However, some of the professors were really helpful and they were actually thoughtful while the others were just focusing on the fact that we do not belong to Kolkata.
- College timings. I opted for a morning class and it was from 6 am to 10 am making it difficult for me to wake up that early. It doesn't concern the college as it runs on 3 different shifts but, somewhere, I didn't like it.
Remarks :
My tuition teacher/mentor guided me about this particular college as it is one of the best colleges in Kolkata for commerce. I got direct admission without any tests on the basis of my class 12th results.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The faculty is helpful and the academic structure is also flexible but the one thing that I didn't like being an outsider is that some professors clearly don't like students from different states. Like, we had this professor who insulted a student just because she was an outsider and didn't know the Bengali language. According to teaching methods, I'd like to rate it 7.5/10 as mostly they were focused on finishing the syllabus rather than making us understand the concept. Exams were conducted on timely manner but sometimes they were late to inform us about the exams and we didn't get enough time to prepare.
Internships Opportunities :
I didn't opt for any internship but the college does offer internships. Companies like TCS do have a record with the college in terms of placements as well as internships providing a platform for the students to showcase their abilities through interactive interviews and tests.
Placement Experience :
The college offers placements and job opportunities in companies like TCS, etc. I went for an interview at TCS and there is a good ratio of the students clearing those interviews and getting jobs at high pay scale. Otherwise, the college has a reputation and various companies are willing to offer nice packages if the students are actually worth it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Semester fee was 4250 including all the other fees and exam fee was separate which was around 350-380 each semester. Students with scholarships got the benefits and opportunity to do the course at way cheaper rates but overall, the price was quite affordable and fair.
Campus Life :
The campus isn't a luxurious or elaborated one but a decent building for a government college. Recently, they've added elevators for the professors as most of them are elderly. The students can also use them but on a limited basis. Social life is good if you know how to make friends. The local ones are quite extrovert and not everyone can match their energy in participating in various activities. But still, there are people proving themselves in different fields.
Hostel Facilities :
There is no hostel facility provided by the college but there are various PG options nearby. The students can also opt for flats but I'd suggest that PGs would be better if you're going out for the first time and choosing a good mess if you don't know how to cook. There are several mess options and they provide good quality food which is quite affordable.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

Placement Experience :
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
