Remarks :
Initially, I was a JEE aspirant and wanted to become an engineer. But sadly, I couldn't crack JEE. Opted for WBJEE but the rank didn't meet the criteria for admission at JU. The admission process was simple, and was based on Board's marks. I am from CISCE, and my marks in Mathematics was 95. I got selected based on this: (2*Marks in Mathematics + best of any two subjects). Out of 400, my score was 385. A provisional admission list was issued boardwise and my name was selected. Then upon physical document verification, admission was done and money receipt was drafted. It was hassle less.
Course Curriculum Overview :
B.Sc. Mathematics in JU was my backup plan, so I opted for it. The faculty here is pretty well recognised, everyone has their own series of achievements, be it nationally or internationally. One thing I would ay is that there is a shortage of professors in the department, which leads to senior profs starting to teach the juniors. Here comes a bad thing, the senior profs would just hover through the basics and go to the core part, so understanding the basics was really upto us. The faculty itself is pretty well established because if you somehow couldn't understand something that was taught earlier in the class or have anny extra doubts, you can go to the prof's office and ask them personally. If the profs aren't available, the research scholars working under them for sure will clear you doubts. Many of the faculty here are themselves qualified from JU, or qualified from IITs, ISIs etc. Even our former HOD is an alumni of ISI Kolkata. Faculty qualification is something we do flex about.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships oppurtunity are plenty with a subject like mathematics. Recently a senior from out dept got an internship from Amazon Sciences. Another senior from our dept is currently doing an internship at LIC under their analytics and risk assessment dept. So yeah, profs also help a lot in getting LoRs.
Placement Experience :
Placements are for MSc batch only. Last year the highest package was 28LPA from Citi Bank, Gurgaon. Majorly hiring companies that come in FETSU for placements only come to maths dept in SFSU. Packages offered here are based on qualities. It decent.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For 1st year, the fee is 1860 Then for the next 3 years, the fees is 1500 per year. You can aply for SVMCM or INSPIRE scholarships while being enrolled in this course, if your net family income meets the eligibility criteria.
Campus Life :
JU has a vibrant campus life. A real vibrant one. It has a lot of clubs and societies that hold orientation programs for the freshers batch. I would recommend attending them as u can get lot of insights about that particular club and make new connections. Seniors (from my perspective and as I have experienced) are a lot helpful. If u are someone who's a bit extroverted and loves fun without taking offense, it's the perfect place for u. Libraries here are well maintained. Both the dept and central library Seniors (UG2) throw a freshers party to the newcomer UG1 batch, it is hell of a fun. We had Exponentia 2k24 this year, our dept freshers. Apart from this, Sanskriti, the union freshers, is observed from march to april, where famous singers from bengal and all over india come. It really showcases the vibrant and cultural side of the campus.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
Jalpaiguri Institute of technology good collage but fees are high

For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
