The best part of JU is it's ROI which attracts most of the aspirants. Apart from this the good placement scenario, good professor and almost 100% placements are others. There was a single exam WBJEE for the admission and there has not been any interviews or group discussions .
The course curriculum is similar like good colleges IITs and NITs. We have 8 semesters ,one exams in each semesters before the break. The curriculum is old & traditional but offers a good placement at the end with a huge scope of higher studies. But if the placement preparations is included in the course it would have been better. Faculties are really good and well experienced , almost everyone holds a PhD from foreign university and all of them have many research papers published.
No not yet , I'm in my 1st year and have not opted for any internships but I've me seniors who have, for instance there is a senior who got internship from Samsung Bengaluru R/D with 50k/ month for two months work from home , later he got a ppo of 40+ lpa from samsung.
Placements and Internships are the limelight of JU. It has a record of 100% placements even in the lower branches. For CSE its 97% This year the best offers include: Google -57lpa , Microsoft -45lpa , Samsung -44lpa. Companies like salesforce , wells fargo , adobe, pwc, Goldman Sachs , IDFC visit the campus. This year quant companies like Graviton , Tower Research Capital has given internships to a few students.
The best part of Jadavpur University is the fee structure its only Rs 2400 per year. When we have accepted the seat for JU after the allotment result I've paid a seat acceptance fee of 5000 and then 710 later which basically covers 2 years of tuition fees and all others like labs , library etc. There's no management quota in our institute but offers admission through caste and sports based quota . Everyone needs to pay the same fees except IT which pays almost 30,000 a year.
In short in campus life is awesome. The annual fests of JU includes Sanskriti, Srijan, Ibdita and many small fests are organised by the clubs present in JU. JU also has a central library "Gandhi Bhawan" and all departmental libraries . All kinds of books , magazines , journals are present in the library , but departmental libraries are more useful. JU also has various clubs and societies like Dance Club , debate club , coding , photography...
Yes I've opted for hostel room. At the time of admission only we have to apply for hostels. Though students with lower family income(<=15k/month) are given more priority. Hostels for 1st year is separate and good quality rooms and washrooms. We are given a room shared by 3/4 , beds , fans , almirahs , mirror. Total room + electricity rent is Rs 25 and mess provides 2 meals a day which is of great quality and billing is like maximum of 2,000 per month.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
