The Chemical Engineering department at JU is one of the oldest in Asia. The academics and research work here is very good. The average placements here is around 9 to 10 LPA including all the departments. The core companies visit here in good numbers, unlike many other colleges. The less fees with such a quality education is a major factor. It is also good here if someone wants to do higher studies like Masters of MBA.
The Chemical Engineering course here is very good and one of the best that you can get in India. The faculties are good and motivating to carry out good research work. The course curriculum is not excellent but not very bad also. Its good, but definitely needs some more better and interdisciplinary courses.
Yes, there are trainings and internships arranged by the college contacts, this is a very positive points as it adds a great value and skill to a person and to showcase it in the interview. Companies that came for internship are Reliance Industries limited, Honeywell, Pidilite, Schrodinger, L&T, Haldia Petrochemicals, and many other companies for the training. Average stipend is around Rs. 30000 per month
Placement is good - In the recession time of 2024 the average package made is Rs. 11 LPA, with highest from IT department of 1.4 crores. Many Companies gave offers like RIL, IDFC First Bank, NowPurchase, ICICI Bank, JSW, Fluor Daniel, Samsung Engineering, Mjunction, ZS Associates, TATA Electronics, Protiviti, and many more.
The yearly fees is around Rs. 2700 - this includes everything except hostel fees (tution fees, lab fees, admission fees, registration fees, etc. all is included). Hostel price is very cheap around Rs. 150 per month. 4 years' engineering fees is not more than 12k Rs. Since this is so much affordable generally students don't need any scholarships, but if required there are few financial aids available still.
The library here is awesome you will get all the required books here. Both the central and departmental library is great. There are a variety of clubs and event here, and more than 70 percent of the clubs are very active here (but around 10 percent of the clubs is not that active). There are many events here going on and famous artists of India and also specific to West Bengal come here to perform. Attendance is not that strict but very much dependent on the professor.
I was a day scholar but know about the hostel conditions. Food is decent. Hostels are very very affordaable. You will find many PGs here which are also affordable and will cost between Rs. 2000 to Rs. 6000 per month for a single person room. It is just available near Jadavpur Station.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
