- Our faculty are top most faculties in entire West Bengal after IIT Kharagpur, many of them are in top 2% scientist in the world(a annual report published by Stanford University)
- Campus Life is also amazing (basically for hostellers) there are numerous number of ponds and green zone which nourishes the nature.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is not upto mark as it is state run university it has very low budget as compared to IITs but it put it utmost efforts to provide best lab equipments for research to us
- Infrastructure is also not good of you compared to central universities or institutes as it has very low budget and majority of their funds are spend on students as the tution fees for entire 4 year B E program is 9.6k only
Remarks :
I myself came from very humble and very economically weak family , for which I have no such resources to crack JEE Advanced. Though, I have cracked JEE mains and WBJEE significantly, I got Btech in Biotechnology in NIT Durgapur, but in NIT the total fees for 4 year is nearly 9 lakh and average package is 6-7 lpa and also many where unplaced in biotechnology department but in Jadavpur University, the fees is rs 9.6k (which was also refunded to bonafide or needed students ) and the average package in Civil Enginnering is 9 lpa. The return of Investment is crazy in case of Jadavpur University of you compared it with NIT Durgapur. There is no separate Group discussions, Interviews or Written tests for admission. I have to cleared WBJEE and got a rank under 3k (for wb domiciled general students) and under 1.5k (for other states candidates
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have choose Civil Enginnering in Jadavpur University as it is the best possible branch for me at the time of admission. Qualification of our Civil Enginnering faculty is awesome , many of them have done their higher studies from IITs and foreign universities. Their teaching method is crazy and some professors have almost 100% attendance (they don't have a need to take attendance ). Many faculties of our engineering department are also listed in the top 2% scientist in the world(which is a annual report published by Stanford University) and every year 50+ professors are listed there. There are 2 semester in one year, for each semester their is separate Internals exam (popularly known as CTs Exam) and the difficulty level of exam is Moderate to Hard.
Internships Opportunities :
For my Civil departments, there will be internship opportunity from my 3rd year(currently I am in 2nd year). The companies which offered roles are as follow. (for civil dept only) 1. IDFC Bank(data analyst role) 2.Exonmobill (engineer trainee) 3. Jeffries(Product management role) - off campus and so on There is a mandatory research project in your 4th semester or in 5th semester to be eligible for campus internships.
Placement Experience :
Eligibilty criteria for placement is 6 cgpa+ and for getting placed in good companies you have to score 7.5 cgpa+. The name of few recruiters are as follow PwC, Amazon, Disney and Hotstar, Accenture, LnT, Gupshup, Protiviti, IDFC Bank, Physicswallah, etc .. The total number of students 1000 and the totals offers made is 938. The highest package for the last year is 1.2 Cr (from IT dept as a SDE in Google) and the average package is 8.7 lpa. The overall placement is 93 % but in some departments there is 100% placement like Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil, Construction and 97% placement in Electronics, Printing, Power,Metallurgy. I personally want to do my higher studies in reputed institutes in our country like IITs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In our college, the total fees for 4 years B. E in any discipline is rs 9600 only i. e rs 2400 per year for 4 year B. E program. These fees is same for everyone irrespective of their category as our college Jadavpur University, is the top most state run public university. The fees is constant from past more than 10 years , there is no fees hike in past and the fees also not increase in future. There is also a scholarship programme in our college i. e the yearly fees are refunded to the bonafide and economically weak students. It has two types- 1. Full freeship - rs 2400 is refunded back to students 2. Half freeship - rs 1200 is refunded back to students Note- For freeship there is to fill a separate application form.
Campus Life :
There are different fests in our college, the most popular ones are Sanskriti(held every year in the month of February) and Srijan(held every year in the month of April) and so on. There are 2 campus of our college - One is main campus in Jadavpur, Kolkata itself and another one in Salt Lake , Kolkata. Both the campus have separate library. There are about more than 10k + books in main campus and 2k + books in Salt Lake campus, there is also a digital library where there is soft copy of more than 50k books available for both the campus students. There are many clubs in our college and some of them are departmental also. Some of them are as follow- 1. Mechatronics Club(basically mechanical dept) deals with robotics and car manufacturing. Recently, a team came at a rank of 5 all over india in a program at ISRO, Bengaluru. 2. FinClub ( for financial stuffs-stocks, trading,etc) 3. Infrastructure Club ( basically for civil engineers ) deals with structure making and design.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel fees is also the least in these entire country i. e rs 25 per month only (rs 300 per year). The food expenses cames out for a month is Rs 2k and in our hostel, there is always a Ideal Dinner after 2 weeks in our hostel. The daily menu of our hostel- Morning Rice+ Dal + Fish+ Sabji + panner(for veg ones) Night Rice+ Dal+ Chicken/Egg+Sabji+Mushroom(For veg ones) For hostel registration, there we have to fill application form and it is to be submitted to Dean of students and there after a separate interview so that the needed and economically weak students get hostels. For those who can't get hostel can accomodate at Bijoygarh, Sulekha, Sonarpur, Bagha Jatin , etc There are lots of PG and also flat on rent is avaliable in these region.

Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
My experience at Shri Shikshayatan College
Placement Experience :
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Affordable Government Pharmacy Education with Strong Academics but Limited Industry Exposure
Placement Experience :
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
My honest opinion on P. G. INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Placement Experience :
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY REVIEW
Placement Experience :
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.

Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.

College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
