As per MHT CET 2024 statistics, a total of 7.25 lakh students have registered for MHT CET engineering and pharmacy exams. This is an increase of 14% from last year's registrations which stood at 6.36 lakh. 

Complete statistics for the session 2024-25 will be released by Maharashtra CET Cell at the official website cetcell.mahacet.org after MHT CET 2024 results are announced. 

Factors Leading to Increased Registration in MHT CET 2024

A number of changes has led to a higher MHT CET applications which are mentioned below: 

• Introduction of new courses: A number of new courses have been introduced by All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) that cater to the demand of the growing IT and tech sector. A few of these include artificial intelligence and machine learning, data analytics and data sciences, etc. 
• Boom in AI sector: Students believe in the strong foothold of AI in the coming years owing to the success of open AI in the present times. 
• Inclusion of transgender category: Applications for transgenders by introducing a separate category for them as well as setting up of cells to address their concerns has resulted in an increase of participation.
