One-third of all Maths marks come from Calculus; roughly 16-17 questions per shift. Calculus questions in MHT CET are usually multi-step and calculation-heavy, unlike Algebra or Probability, where formula recall is often enough.
Definite and Indefinite Integration together accounted for the majority of Calculus questions last year. Both appeared in every shift without exception. Application of Derivatives (maxima, minima, rate of change) reliably produced 2-3 questions per shift.

At 20% of the paper, Coordinate Geometry is the second largest topic area. Questions here are not particularly tricky but require thorough knowledge of standard results, properties, and formulas across a wide range of chapters.
Vectors and 3D Geometry have been the most frequently tested chapter in this category across recent shifts. Conic Sections, particularly the ellipse and hyperbola, have also been consistent. Conic Section was added to the syllabus relatively recently and has shown up in every paper since.

Matrices and Determinants appeared in every MHT CET 2025 shift. Permutations and Combinations questions are formula-driven and solvable quickly. Complex Numbers and Sequences carry lower individual weightage but appear often enough that skipping them is a risk.

Probability carried around 10% of the paper in 2025. Probability Distributions and Binomial Distribution are the key chapters — both largely formula-based. PYQ practice alone is sufficient to handle most questions in this category.
