Likes
- The teachers here are quite friendly as I have good relations with almost all the teachers here in my department.
- The hostel life is good, as we boys can come and go anytime we want.
Dislikes
- I didn't liked the hostel as the rooms get too hot during summers that it feels like a heater in there.
- Two campuses are there, due to which have to walk a lot for attending the classes
Remarks :
The entry in this college starts from class 11th itself due to which I didn't need to focus on JEE and directly entered the college, though an exam is conducted for this by the institute itself, and the centers are available in all the parts of northeast India.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as I was a lot of interested in coding as well as robotics, I liked doing coding in my free time even in school days and had some interests in robotics as made some projects during school time. There is a bit problem in the teaching method as the teacher who teaches us himself makes the question paper and he himself checks and gives marks too, due to which we aren't able to gasp any extra knowledge. A total of 2 exams are conducted in a sem, one mid sem of 30 marks and other end sem of 50 marks, which means 4 exams in a year.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes I did an internship recently in IIT Delhi, it was a 2 months internship in which my domain was machine learning and worked for the topic related to neuroscience, I was completely new to this so learnt a lot while completing the project.
Placement Experience :
The campus placement was good before covid time, but after that it's not so good, but yet some good companies come and recruit from the campus like Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Nepco, Oil india limited, Vedanta and many more. To be eligible for campus placement, a person should maintain atleast 7 CGPA throughout the course and should not have any active backlogs. I am planning to do mtech from an IIT for which I am preparing for gate exam.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fee of rupees 7,500 for per semester, means for 6 months, and hostel fees of rupees 15000 approx for each semester, which has indeed increased this year as before the tution fees was 5500 for each semester. Scholarships are available for the qualified students based on their state policies
Campus Life :
I experienced a lot of college fests and events taking place, soon as we enter in the college, general freshers meet takes place in August, the department freshers meet too in August - September, then cultural fest called Racaf in October - November of 3-4 days, sports meet in February, Technical festival called Shristi in April. A lot of books a available in the library for the students to come and issue on their name for free. We have music club, gym, hobby club, robotics club and many more such groups in the college.
Hostel Facilities :
Though we get a lot of varieties of food in the hostel mess, but the quality isn't up to the mark. Hostel is allotted at the time of addmission itself and the registration steps are explained, the fees of hostel is comparatively low from other places as its only 15000 for 6 months including food, water, electricity, WiFi everything.

Various companies comes for placement in NERIST but many of which don’t provide a proper package most number of them provide around 3-4 LPA. Since this companies are mass recruiters so more than 50% of the students gets placed

Course Curriculum Overview :
The teachers are highly qualified. And tests occour monthly and since it is first year the test and exams are very very moderate . The exam of first year is given during December after which we get a vacation for few days after which the second sem begins and its exam occur at april

I choose this course because this was the only subject I was good at it , 1st & 2nd are easy but 5th is difficult and we need to do more hard work at this sem and the faculty members are really nice and understanding

Almost all the teachers have PhD degrees except a few. They use both English and Hindi langue based on students preferences. They provide notes from standard book and also provides own well prepared notes. The exams always takes place timely, timely routine were provided.

Course Curriculum Overview :
Zoology was my subject since class 5 as I love studying this subject so I decided to took zoology as my honours in the university. All the faculty members of the university are good enough with a PhD . There held 3 sessional examination at a duration of 1month gap.

Companies start visiting for placements from 7th semester, Many top companies such as C-DOT, Deloitte, Wipro, OIL, CGI, Tech Mahindra. The highest package offered is 19 LPA, average package is 7.6 LPA. Most of the IT companies offer SDE, Analyst roles where are core companies offer GET roles for the students. I'm looking forward for the placement after getting the degree.
