IIITB, myths are true or false??
Likes
- 1) Seniors and faculty, they will help you with any issue be it as silly as what is c language to as complicated as quantum physics.
- 2) The college campus is very green and the weather inside remains very cool in comparison to Bangalore city.
Dislikes
- There is no ground for cricket or swimming pool.
- Gender ratio till now was very bad, but I hope in future it gets better.
Remarks :
I took admission in my college because of its placement data and faculty. I am in ECE branch and this college is very renowned for ECE. The college is small so I wasn't expecting a lot from it but so far it has exceeded my expectations. There was one test which i gave called JEE MAINS. IN that one needs to score above 99 percentile to take admission here. There is no other test there to take addmisson in BTECH or IMTECH for IIITB.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the ECE course in IIITB because for past 25 years, the college has been working in this field. IIITB is renowned for ec department. The HOD, Professor Madhav Rao sir is a PhD from University of Alabama. The exams are going to be conducted every 2 months in form of midterms and end-terms while weekly quizzes are going to be conducted.
Internships Opportunities :
Till now i haven't accepted any internships. But from various sources I can say that internships are also very good at IIITB. HIghest stipend of 240 thousands were given this year while average stipend of 55.3 thousands was given.
Placement Experience :
Eligibility criteria varies per company but a CGPA of 3.4 on 4 is considered safe. Recruiters such as NVIDIA, QUALCOM, APPLE, MICROSOFT, GOLDMAN SAHCS come to the institute. Highest package was 65LPA while median was 36.4 LPA. 100 percent of student gets placed here with college supporting at every step to the students. I plan to pursue higher studies from USA after I complete my degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The first year fees that I am paying is rupees 637600. This fee is going to remain same for next year as well and will increase for the last two years. This fee includes, tuition, hostel, mess, medical insurance, caution (One time), Library(one time). Tuition fees is 4,60,000. Hostel fees is 78,000. Mess fees is 57,600. Medical insurance is 2000. Caution deposit(one time) is 15,000. Library deposit(one time) is 4,000. We get a scholarship if we get into dean's list and it is 50,000 per year. We have to stay on campus compulsorily and no day scholar system works here. No reservation as well.
Campus Life :
Infin8 is a 3 day annual fest that is conducted in the month of April. Sports fests such as umang and Spandan are also conducted in a year. IIITB Premier league, a league same as IPL is conducted twice a year. A lot of books are available in library, from fiction to refenrece books. Classrooms have 5 projector for everyone to look at the material on board. They have charging points and central Air conditioning. There a lot of clubs like dance, music, drama, coding, games etc. The campus life is very chill as long as you keep revising what was taught in class.
Hostel Facilities :
Food quality is way better than any college I've ever heard of. The menu is reviewed and changed every 2 weeks which doesn't make the food boring for students. The affordability of hostel and mess in a city like Bangalore is way affordable than one can think of. For hostel room you just need to come on the registration day and by the end of the registration you get your room without much issue. There is no provision for undergrads to live outside the college campus but males in mtech can live in appartment called GUESTURE.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
BSc Physics at Jain University

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
