- The environment is very peaceful and the college staff members are very helpful. And the college has a additional subject that is value education which gives us knowledge about moral values.
- The college has bus services which is very useful for students during excursion to nearby places.
Dislikes
- The canteen food in the college is average and should be improved. The quality of food is not up to the mark.
- The college classrooms should have smart class for better understanding and there should be microphone in classrooms which are huge .
Remarks :
The college was located at the best place Shillong. And the college holds NAAC with grade B++ . It is a well known college in the whole north east and people from other states come here to pursue their degree or master degree. The admission process during my year was all online since that time it was lockdown. So no seperate entrance exam or interview was conducted for selection . It was basically on our 12th class percentage and first cum first basis. Also students belonging to different quota got reserved seats in one go.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose philosophy as the subject is very interesting and we get to know about spiritual life and studies . The college possess a great philosophy faculty and they are very friendly and supportive. The faculty members were all postgraduates in philosophy and some were even holding doctorate degree. Our HOD ma'am was very sweet and she helped us a lot during exams . The teaching method was excellent just that there should be smart class introduced in every class for better explanation. Exams were held twice a year that is each after completion of one semester. The level of difficulty is moderate to hard.
Placement Experience :
There was no such placements for my programe that is BA philosophy but for BBA and BCom there were placements and students were selected based on their previous semester percentage. Then the selected students were sent for interview and companies like Nestle , and many more came to recruit students. Many call centre companies also came to recruit students. The highest package was 6LPA and the average is 2LPA . After completing degree I will pursue MBA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees per year is ?22000 that is for 2 semesters. And for registration after each semester ?1200 is required to enroll. For practical related degree an extra of ?200 is charged for each practical paper. Admission fees was included with the first semester fees , there was no extra admission fees. The college provides scholarship for students who belong to ST, SC or such EWS . They can enroll in the college website and can submit the required amount as fees .
Campus Life :
The college has many clubs such as NCC , NSS ( National service scheme) , debate club , Minnova club, Jesus youth, Anthonian Youth Club (AYC), SACMUN ( St Anthony's college model United nation) , Drama club , Media club , Commerce club, Dance club and many more. Students can join various clubs as there is no restrictions for joining only a specific club. These clubs ensure that every student is engaged with one or other extra co-curricular activities. The college has a basketball group where students can play during interschool competitions or even for fun. The college week is conducted every year in the college where there are various theme days followed by the final day PROM . The library has different types of books and journals which are very useful . The journals are supplied on daily basis.

Job opportunities from our college is not quite good, but our college is renowned for their excellence in commerce so employability after completion of course is not a big issue especially for me, i personally would like to get involved in financial sectors

Since it's a college affiliated under NEHU, so there's only graduation course here. But if you want to do masters you have go to NEHU for that. Only then you will get a good placement. But I had friends in other departments they were given the opportunity to sit for placement interview but again the package isn't as high as someone would get after post graduation.

Placement opportunities were not directly available but many companies and institutions scouted our students through seminars and programmes for further job after the degree. The package differed from student to student and they were offered individually to them so it was hard to know the exact number.

80% placement is sure 100% sure 23k for the new minimum it is 4 to 5 lakh package which is amazing as a fresher and the PG rooms is also good idli do output percentage of students getting plus mint and criteria is from the website.

Since I’m still under graduation , I don’t know much about the placements here. But my plans after my graduation is to persue MBA from a good university. But as I’ve heard from my seniors, the placements here are quite good and many of the students grab the placement opportunities that are offered here.
