- The study atmosphere is good with good faculty and classes. Definitely one of best college of physiotherapy in mangalore for studying and practicing.
- The clinical postings and internship are too good with a wide range of patients
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is not as high compared to the new campus. Would have provided a better canteen with a non-veg menu too. A small place to hangout and a ground.
- The social life is comparitively poor due to lack of space. There is no ground for sports like football cricket and athletics.
Remarks :
Srinivas is presently the only college in india to offer Dpt. Presently there is a written test. At the time i had enrolled there was no test as it was during covid pandemic period. The cut off to join the course was 60%in PCB. The admission process was almost smooth. Paying 30000 of the first year fee was the reservation fee and rest was asked to pay before the class started. There was a additional fee of 1500 for registration.The campus is small but still the clinical facilities and patients is extensive with some expensive and latest modalities in over 3 different department namely musculoskeletal and sports, neuro, pediatrics department. Also the college offers postings in prasant nivas(community rehab centre) and spandana(for differently abled children). It also provides posting in their hospital where we get to work in SICU,MICU,OBG,wards, and OPD.
Course Curriculum Overview :
DPT Is an advantage physical Therapy course which has a wide scope in abroad countries especially in America,Australia etc. The course almost has a complete syllabus but is still under development. The planning for specialization is still under developement. Some subjects like the medicine surgery could have a better classes and practical hours given for these subjects was almost neglible. Betterment in these subjects was important for better clinical practice and diagnostic techniques and skills. Also since the course is new,some faculties are not aware of proper cariculum and depth of syllabus which makes it difficult for students especially the senior batch.
Internships Opportunities :
The college offers compulsory 1year internship after the 5th year course. The scope and chance of internship is too good as we get a chance to work in ortho,neuro and pediatric OPDs in the campus. The OPD’s in campus is big with some modern equipments and facilities under the supervision of department faculty. Also there is internship at 2 rehab centres -prasanth nivas(community rehabilitation center) and spandana(pediatric rehab center). Also we get to work in srinivas hospital where we work in SICU,MICU,OBG,wards and a OPD. The planing for specialization and internship is still developing for DPT as the senior batch is yet to join internship. Presently there is no stipend with internship at the college but is offered once we are selected to work with some other institutions at average of 10-15k per month. The internship is divided to sesions of 1month where we work in each department for 1 or 2months.
Placement Experience :
There is a compulsory 1year internship after the 5 year course. I dont no much about campus placement from dpt and the senior most batch is still in 5th year but some of our seniors from the BPT has got selected to work and complete their internship with a hospital in hyderabad with a salary of around 10-15k since it is during their internship the salary offer was quite well. But DPT IS STILL EVOLVING IN INDIA so the best option is to persue abroad to get better opportunities especially to USA ,AUSTRALIA etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
1,05,000-1st year 85,500-2nd 3rd 4th year 85,600- th year (This is for the non karnatakites) For karnataka students the fee is aprox. 30000 less than non karnatakites. This was the fee during 2020 cariculum but has increased now to 6,30,000 for 2024-25.
Campus Life :
The campus life is almost nil. The physiotherapy campus is very small with almost no social life. However mostly there is an annual cultural festival Radiance which is conducted in july or august followed by sports which is conducted in a public ground since the college doesnt have a ground for itself. Clubs where there in the initial period but their activity is very limited due to the lack of space in campus. Library is fine with a good amount of academic books. But still lack in basic facilities like a better seating and resting area. Also the area should have been airconditioned but still is not very often done even during the summer time. There is no non academic books which limits students knowledge and life experience. Class rooms are ok with a good seating as well projecter and podium for lectures to take class.
Hostel Facilities :
The mens hostel is of very very poor quality with a very low hygienic conditions. The food menu is suited for karntaka taste with only veg menu. Quality and quantity of food is almost ok but the mess area is very unhygienic and old with rats and other pests. I myself vacated hostel after my 1st year. There is bus service in morning and afternoon linking the college and hostel. Womens hostel is of a better condition compared to mens hostel.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

Eligibility for the placements is 7+ cgpa if you have higher cgpa higher the chances of you getting shortlisted for the interview and it will be easy for you Recuriters visited Cisco,Visa,Emerson,NetApp and many more for the internships and full time Highest package is 56 LPA and average package will be around 10 LPA for the computer science and Engineering for other branches it may vary
