- Canteen Food is not that great. Not worth for the price they charge.
- Campus is silent after 6pm, Feels like a ghosted town XD
Remarks :
The college is renowned in this region of Mangalore. The study environment is good. Closer to the city compared to other colleges in the same region. Both teaching and non-teaching staff are supportive and well qualified. Anti-ragging campus NACC A+ rating Admission process is simple. Govt quota through KCET exam and the cutoff is around 16000 rank for cse.
Course Curriculum Overview :
SJEC is an autonomous institution that has a flexible syllabus that can be changed according to the needs of the industry and the current market scenarios. The syllabus is a bit hectic since new subjects are introduced every semester and relevant skills also have to be obtained. There is a criteria points such as AICTE points which have to gained by the end of 4 years approximately 100 points. Few extra courses from Coursera are asked to do within each semesters. The faculty are good and wel qualified. Every sem, we have 2 internal exams for 50 marks each and sem end exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Several online internships from AICTE are provided. Salesforce virtual internship is one of the mandatory internships that's provided on our college, Roles include Salesforce Developer or Salesforce Administrator.
Placement Experience :
Placements are between above average and good ranging from 4lpa to 25lpa. Good placement assistance is provided. Aptitude, Personality training is provided for the students. College has its own Hackathon and other technical webinars to enhance the quality of student communication.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College has got different fee systems. I'm talking about the CSE fee structure: 1) Through KCET exam the fee is around 1.1 lakh to 1.3 lakh including the aicte skill lab included 2)Management quota starts from 2.5 to 4 lakhs approx. 3)Hostel and other amenities fee comes upto 70k per annum.
Campus Life :
There are several technical and cultural clubs such as: a)Robotics:TerrorBull Robotics, Synergy b)OpenSource community: Sceptix c)Google Devs Student Club d)AICIF SJEC e) Melodium: Music Club f)NCC Air and Naval Wing SJEC is a complete package for both academics and co-curricular activities. There are 2 fests conducted every year Milan : Cultural fest in odd sems. Tiara : All India Technical Fest in even sems. Well developed computer labs, digital libraries and the central library plays a pivotal role in enhancing the learning experience.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel accommodation is good, but the food is not that great. Great value for money if only the accommodation is kept in mind. Great improvement in food is necessary and I personally wouldn't suggest to try the hostel food.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
