Likes
- Faculty is too notch and knowledgeable. Experienced in the field of education as well as industry. You will get lots of things to learn from them professionally, academically as well as personally.
- Campus life is very calm, and quiet because of the greenery and the distance from the busy life of the city. People who love nature and picturesque location will surely have a good time here.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is a bit compromised in some cases such as there is no 2 seater hostel for boys and a lack of a 12 hour night canteen which is really needed.
- Since 2023, the number of seats have been increased which has resulted extra load over existing facilities and the authorities have taken no action to tackle with overcrowding and mismanagement.
Remarks :
The institute takes admission from JEE Main exam and the process is done by JoSAA which is the seat allocation body for all the institutes of national importance in the country. Generally our college opens at around 98 percentile and gets closed around 93 percentile. The factors which made me choose this college were the NIRF rankings and campus life. The institute takes admission from UCEED for the design discipline (Bdes.) and CEED for Mdes. Postgraduate engineering students are enrolled through GATE.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My choice was based on the skills I wanted to learn which included a mix of computer and mechanical domains hence I went with Smart Manufacturing. Faculty here is so knowledgeable and experienced that you will never get tired of learning and experiencing new things. They are comparable to IIT faculty. The exams are always held timely and academic discipline is always considered the topmost priority. Difficult levels of exams varies with professor to professor. Some can take light and easy exams so that students can develop confidence and then give projects to check how well can students implement the things they have learned while can some take JEE Advanced level exams with difficulty levels tearing through the roof. Either way the purpose is to make students prepare for each and every difficulty they might face in their professional life and have a basic idea of how to tackle and deal with pressure.
Internships Opportunities :
I did my summer internship at the end of my 3rd year in Vehicle Factory Jabalpur as a machine learning intern. Internships are done by students starting from 3rd year. Both summer term internships (usually 8-12 weeks) and year long PBI (project based internship) can be done by students which can be turned into FTE (full time employment) once they graduate although FTE is more company dependent than the institute. Professors also take students as interns and can assign them reseaech based projects or tasks in compensation of a stipend. Opportunities come along as you study and almost everyone gets one unless they are not active in their field of interest and study.
Placement Experience :
Placement at IIITDMJ is outstanding and job opportunities are good. Lots of companies with diverse roles come to our campus for hiring the talent. To name a few - Microsoft, Google, AWS, Codeforces, InfoEdge, GamesKraft, PlaySimple Games, L&T technologies, Addverb Technologies, Myracle.IO, Flipkart and many more. Highest package in 2024 is 80 LPA on campus and average for the whole institute is around 16-17LPA. Around 90% students get placed each year with the remaining either going to pursue higher studies or becoming entrepreneurs. My plan is to get a good job offer in which i gain some industry experience and build connections.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The academic fee per semester is 93720 which includes hostel because our institute is fully residential so every enrolled student has to reside in hostels. Apart from this mess fee is 15000 per semester which is optional after 2nd year although compulsory for 1st and 2nd year. Admission fee, registration fee are included in the registration fee of JoSAA while development fee, lab fee and other fee are included in the academic fee. Scholarships are available both merit based (NSP and MCM) or region based (state scholarships). SC/ST students get waiver on academic fee and can also avial scholarships under minorty status from the institute. The fee remains the same for all the four years/eight semesters.
Campus Life :
Life at IIITDMJ is nice and comforting. You never get bored with the campus because there is always something more to do and explore. "Gusto" is our annual sports festival which is usually held around November last week. "Tarang" is our annual cultural festival which has the most hype among students and faculties alike. Timelines for Tarang vary each year. Last Tarang was held in October 2023. Our campus has its own library complex where you will find every book you will need in your academic journey. You get access to countless paid/premium research papers and journals for free from our institute email address. Clubs and societies are run by student bodies in all domains. To name a few - Samvaad (Literary Society), Saaz (Musical Society), Shutter box (photography club), Jazbaat (theatre club), Automotive Fabrication Club, The programming club, Astronomy and Physics Club, Cricket Club, volleyball club, football club, handball club, lawn tennis club, badminton club, Gym club, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
There is a central mess in the campus instead of having individual mess for each hostel. All students (boys and girls) eat in the central mess. Although each hostel has a separate canteen in the hostel building. The mess food quality is quite average but better than canteen. Some people say they like canteen food more than mess but personally, I prefer mess food over canteen. Our campus is a fully residential campus so it is compulsory for every student to live in the hostels (including PG students). There are a total of 7 hostels out of which 2 are for girls.

Placement and job opportunity is good in this college around 60% placed before start of 7th semester and 90% placed till end of 8th semester. Various company like Amazon , tcs , infosys , etc visit the campus. Highest package till now is 44 lpa and average is 6.5 lpa

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
