Remarks :

Bits Hyd is surely among the top 20 colleges in our country . I wasnt getting my preferred branch in IITs and NITs so I opted for Bits hyd . There is one BITSAT exam held twice a year and you are allotted the branches as per your score . I took MSc mathematics so I could do Both Maths and Computer Science together . The median package of the college is great about 20 lakhs and the student and faculty quality is both mind blowing as well . The fees is a bit on the higher side but you can easily opt for a student loan which covers your entire fees without any collateral . There is no separate GD / PI round . You just have to study for Bitsat exam whose syllabus also completely overlaps with that of JEE . It has five sections of MATHS , PHYSICS, CHHEMISTRY , ENGLISH AND LOGICAL REASONING . The level is bit below jee so you dont need to prepare separately.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MSc Mathematics And computer Science go hand in hand . Maths is needed in every bit of computer science so I thought it would be wise to study them both. The course is upto date with the industry demands and interesting enough to keep you occupied . The faculty is quite good and well qualified . All of them have done their studies from reputed colleges and a lot of them actually chose bits over IITS as well . The teaching methods are quite wholesome and the teachers make sure that concepts are embedded in our minds . You are absolutely free to approach them for doubts anytime. Quizzes are held almost a month after the session starts . Then each following month has a Midsem , Quiz 2 and finally the Comprehensive Exams . The difficulty level is decent and you need to have a thorough understanding of the concepts to ace the exams

Internships Opportunities :

We have a PS1 at end of 2nd year and PS2 in our last year . Both are allotted as per our Cgpa and we can get a chance to work in the top companies . PS1 is of two months and is unpaid while PS2 is of 6 months and paid . Many top companies like Amazon , Apple etc recruit through it. We also have a summer internship drive in the 3rd or 4th year which is also based on cgpa but your skillset as well . It is paid as well.

Placement Experience :

The placement is handled by a placement who call the recruiters . There is no strict criteria but each company has its own branch and cg restrictions . Some recruiters are GOOGLE , MICROSOFT , UBER , NVIDIA , QUALCOMM , DE SHAW ETC and multiple offers are made from them . The placement percentage is almost 100 only . The highest package is around 80 lpa and average is about 22 lpa . Percentage is generally around 95-98 . I also plan to crack one of these tech companies for a SDE role.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees of BITS Hyd is about 3.25-3.5 lakhs per semester and since my course has 10 semesters , I have to pay around 36 lakhs for the entire course . The fees increases by about 7-8 percent each year as well . My course is an integrated degree in both Msc Mathematics and Btech Degree in Computer Science . The fees breakdown per semester is about 2.5 lakhs tuition fees , 25000 hostel fees and 25000 mess fees + some miscellaneous expenses and each year has two semesters . So it about to about 7-7.5 lakhs . The fees is same for all the courses but the single degree students have one less year in college . They have 4 years while I have 5. There are two types of scholarship namely merit and merit-cum-need scholarship. Both are based purely on your cgpa and have 100,50 and 20 percent tuition fee waiver . Merit scholarship has no pre requisites but mcn one needs your family income to be less than 15 lakhs per annum

Campus Life :

The life at campus is just a very great experience . The whole semester is jam packed with various events and you wont feel boredom at all. There are three fests namely ATMOS THE TECH FEST held in October end , ARENA THE SPORTS FEST , held in February and PEARL THE CULTURAL FEST held in March end . Numerous events are held throughout the fest to keep you engaged . The library is a vast place which can used for studies or finding any book you want . It is well lit and quite well maintained as well . Sports and cultural culture is quite good . We have a football , cricket , hockey , basketball ground alongside volleyball and tennis lawn . There is a Student Activity Centre containing the TT and badminton , alongside Gym and rooms for Dramatics , music , vfx , comedy etc . There is vast array of clubs ranging from Crux the coding club , a mars rover club , to teams pertaining to each sport and clubs for comedy , drama etc . Most are student run and supervised by a faculty.

Hostel Facilities :

It is mandatory to take a hostel in Bits . There are multiple hostels allotted on the basis of your year. The hostels are well lit and sanitation facilities are pretty decent . You have multiple bath and washroom cubicles on each floor alongside the water coolers or heaters . each room is either double or single . You are provided with a almirah , study table , chair ,, whiteboard and a bed . Rest of the stuff has to be brought on your own. There are two messes allotted through a web registration at end of each month . Both of the mess maintain high levels of sanitation and the food quality and quantity is good too . The menu is quite varied and has everything from north from south indian food ,

A glimpse of MRUH

Placement Experience :

The campus placements are good and there are companies coming in every year for fresh talent but it all comes down to our talent. We are provided with an opportunity but we have to work for it ourselves.

Not so great

Placement Experience :

Placements and Internships The placement opportunities at my college are average, with a limited number of companies visiting the campus every year. Students who maintain a good academic record and possess strong technical and communication skills have better chances of getting placed. Generally, students with no active backlogs and a minimum academic percentage as specified by the recruiting company are eligible to participate in campus placements. A few recruiters visit the college for hiring, mainly for entry-level roles in software, IT support, and core engineering domains. However, the number of offers is limited, and only around 40–50% of students secure campus placements. The average salary package offered ranges from ?3–4 LPA, while the highest package varies depending on the company and the student's performance. The college also encourages students to apply for paid internships, which help them gain practical industry experience and improve their technical skills

But the college starts preparing us early with coding practice, projects, aptitude training, resume building sessions, and mock interviews. FRom interacting with seniors, I have heard that students who stay consistent with their skills get good opportunities

Where learning meets industry

Placement Experience :

One good thing is that placements aren't treated as something that only matters in the final year. From the early semesters we are encouraged to build projects, improve our coding skills, and create a strong resume. That gives us enough time to prepare instead of rushing later. The college also shares internship opportunities and guides students through the application process. There are resume reviews, mock interviews, and career sessions that help us understand what companies expect. I feel the support is there throughout the journey, the more effort you put in, the more you can benefit from these opportunities.

A satisfying learning journey

Placement Experience :

Best part is the college doesn't wait until the final year to talk about careers. We get opportunities to work on projects, improve our coding, build resumes, and attend interview preparation sessions from the early semesters. Internship opportunities are shared regularly and the college guides students through the application process. This has helped me gain practical experience and understand what companies expect.

Learning, growth and great memories

Placement Experience :

From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.

Reasons I chose NIAT

Placement Experience :

Since I am still a student I haven't gone through the final placement season yet. But from what I have seen the college starts preparing us quite early. We have regular coding sessions, aptitude training, mock interviews and resume building workshops. The placement team also shared internship opportunities whenever they are available. I feel the college is more focused on making students job ready than waiting until the final year. If you stay consistent with your coding, projects and overall skills, you will be in a much better position when placement season starts. Overall I think the college provides good support, but students also need to put in their own effort.

College life beyond classroom

Placement Experience :

As a current student I haven't reached the final placement season yet but the college has already started preparing us. We get regular updates about internship opportunities, and many students apply from the early semester itself. Along with that there are sessions on resume writing, aptitude, communication skills and interview preparation. The college also encourages us to build projects and improve our technical skills, which helps while applying for internships. I feel these small efforts throughout the course will make a big difference when placements begun.

A great place to meet like minded people

Course Curriculum Overview :

One important thing I like about the course is that it isn't only about reading books and writing exams. We get to practice what we learn through coding, assignments, and small projects, which makes the subject easier to understand. The syllabus also covers topics that are useful for todays tech industry. The faculty is friendly and easy to talk to. They explain concepts in a simple way, clear doubts without any hesitation, and we are already ready to help if someone is struggling.
