I did not have any interviews or tests when it came to this college since my score in 12th grade was 87%. For them anything above 60% is satisfactory and does not need a test. The admission process was very simple since there were no interview rounds. I had daily discussions with the counsellor of UPES who would clear any doubts I had regarding the college environment or the admission process.
I chose this course since I had already studied law in 11-12 grade and was quite passionate about it. The subjects in this course are quite interesting frankly and the faculties for the most part are very good. There are two sides of the coin when it comes to the faculties since they change every semester. So each faculty we encounter, whether good or bad will be changed in 5 months. The exams happen twice in each semester. Two months after the beginning of our semester we have mid terms, that do not affect our final CGPA that greatly and are easier in general than the end semester exams. The end semester exams happen a month and a half after the mid semester exams and include the entire syllabus of the subject. They are very critically graded since they affect our overall CGPA. The difficulty level for some exams may be more than the others but overall if you’ve studied and paid attention in class, the exams aren’t as bad.
In the first year of college, the internship is mandatory as it allows students to understand how to work in a professional setting. The internship can be allotted by the college or can be a self choice. At the end of it, you would have to prepare a report that summarises your work done in the past two months and the learning process. I worked for The Shri Ram School as a social media marketer/manager. It was a great experience as I was surrounded with very humble teachers who made me feel at home.
The placements are out of question for me right now since I am still in my second year and haven’t been introduced to this concept yet. But overall the placements in this college are satisfactory for almost all degrees of you maintain a good standard score. They conduct regular workshops that allow you to understand what the recruiters are looking for.
The year wide fee is about 2L per semester and since this is an integrated course we have about 5 years and 2 semesters per year. The tuition fee rounds up to about 25L at the end of the course since there is a spike every year and the fee structure changes accordingly. The registration fee and admission fee are not minimal as well. You will need to pay 1L at the start in order to confirm your admission and this will be later adjusted in the academic fee. For those who want to pursue BA LLB instead should keep in mind that it is a little more expensive in comparison to BBA LLB. The scholarships are available at the start if you’re a girl child and to maintain scholarships later in your degree you would have to keep your CGPA above 8.
The social life of the campus is okayish and good sometimes since we have some tests which are a lot better than the few others. We have few reoccurring fests such as Spandan, Dholida, Uurja etc. These fests happen mostly in the bidholi campus since it is a lot larger than the kandoli campus. Sports and extra curriculum activities all have their separate clubs which you can enroll for by filling their respective forms. Interviews are conducted by the seniors or the committee members of that club to facilitate your selection procedures.
In my first year of college, I opted for the in campus facility. It was good in terms of facilities and quality of the rooms since I was placed in a double sharing room with a common washroom and without AC. The room was spacious but when it comes to triple sharing rooms, the in campus rooms are not comfortable as they’re very small and it can seem crowded. I would suggest to always opt for a room with a personal washroom since a common washroom is not as hygienic. This is a problems faced frequently. The food is not as good either. It is good for the first few weeks before the quality starts slowly deteriorating. The affordability is not as good since the Tution fee along with hostel fee together line up to be almost 7L annually and on top of that your living expenses in Dehradun would make it almost 8L. I have opted for a hostel in my second year which is a lot better in a lot of aspects with a private washroom and a spacious room with clean and delicious food.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
