The major factor was the affordability and the location of college. It is situation in the heart of bangalore. Extremely safe and everything you need is just around the corner. The other reason was the reputation of college. It is one of the most reputed colleges of the city.
I was passionate about psychology so I took this course. The faculty at both my core subjects was amazing. Specially the Psychology department. The teaching methods and the academics were something which I liked the most about the college. It is unusual but the staff actually cares about the students and are very friendly except a few of course.
I opted for internship but not through college. There are not much availability of internships as such on campus. Few of my batchmates got some opportunities with the reference from some professors and their own connections and network.
The college does not have a dedicated campus placement system for Bsc. Psychology students as the focus is more on higher studies or internships in psychology related fields. While a few companies may visit for recruitment in general administrative or customer service roles. The eligibility requires a good academic background record. Most psychology graduates prefer to pursue further education like Msc. in psychology or other prefered field. However, for students interested in further education, this program lays a solid foundation. I plan to further my studies with a masters degree.
The fee structure for the Bsc. psychology program is affordable and transparent. For my batch, the yearly fee amounted to approximately 40,000. This includes tuition fee, lab fee, miscellaneous charges like development, admission, etc. Registration fee and exam fee are seperate. Fee for reserved categories and first-generation learners were relatively less. there are merit based scholarships. There is financial aid available as well for students with great academic performance and economic background. The payment flexibility is also an important point as the fees can be paid in installments. For students with 90% and above in their 12th board, they get a straight scholarship of 10,000 at admission.
There are multiple events and fests. The main fest is the Tarangini fest which is the major highlight. It happens around april, Other fests include the psychology fest, the literary fests and other departments also conducts fests. Books and other things are easily available with the help of the library card which is issued after the admission process. The classrooms includes, blackboard, smartboards, good lightening, fans and comfortable benches. The benches have been upgraded recently. Sports and gym is available for the students who enroll. Most sports activities happen in the ground opposite to the college building at 18th cross malleshwaram. There the clubs and activities such as the NCC air wing, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Literary Mavens Club, Anarghya Psychology Forum, Women development cell, Entrepreneurship cell and many more.
On campus living is not available. But a lot of PG's are available at walking distance from the campus. It costs anywhere between 7000-10000 per month. Including all the amenities such as wifi, washing machine, four meals in a day, induction, bed, almirah, etc.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.
I got placed in a company called Glory Infinity Private Limited, there other offers from The math school infosys ultratech every student had multiple offers from company. Not A very high packages but good opportunities
The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
