The admission process was simple, we had to submit a SOP along with our form which costed around 2000 rupees. Upon reviewing the form and SOP, we were called in for an interview. The interview was easy, they asked me about things I had written on my application like my experiences at MUNs and why did I want to do Psychology... They suggested me to try out their Social and Political Science programme as well because my report card showed my consistent good grades in social science courses. They asked me the general questions about what I expected from the University, why did I choose this university. A simple google read about them, their faculty and the services that they provided along with the ethics that they uphold allowed in to prepare well for this interview
I chose psychology because I was always interested in it. In this university the psychological faculty is Amazing, not just because of their academic achievements but their way of teaching is also different. The course material used are usually books that are well known along with classical and modern research papers. Research is A BIG and one of the MOST IMPORTANT part of this university. Our evaluation is heavily dependent on the research projects that we submit. The faculty here are mostly graduates from IIT Gandhinagar with a background in cognitive science along with people who have worked multiple years in hospitals as clinical psychologist and counselors. They have years of both teaching, practical and research experience.
Off campus Internship is an important requirement to complete your graduation. The career development centre offers many on campus and off campus internships however I haven't availed their services. We also have the opportunity to be Teaching/Research assistant for professors at the University.
For placements you should have over 3.2 CGPA atleast and for good placements over 3.5. We don't have a lot of good/big companies coming for placements. If your goal is to get placement after bachelors this is not the college that you should opt for however if you plan to stay in academia for longer to do research/PhD then this is a good university. I was able to secure good research internships because of the AU faculty's connections. I plan to go into research and do a PhD so I think this university is providing me with a very strong base for it. If your goal is to become a researcher this is the place to go to.
The fees started with 3.4L per year but there's a 10% increase every academic year. That is every year 10,000 rupees increase. I am in my fourth year and I have to pay 1.85L per semester. They have an additional "course pack fee" which was 5k a couple years ago but they have increased that to 6k. They do provide merit based scholarships to people, however they only provide 50% of waiver. In order to be eligible for the merit based scholarship you need to have a cgpa of 3.8 and above. The annual fee for the incoming 2024-2025 is 460000, where they have to pay 230000 per semester in the first year. They also have a 10% increase.
Ahmedabad University is not like other universities. We don't really have a campus life. There are no on campus hostels and the main campus closes at night. We don't have fests like other universities. Our fests are also circled around learning and education where we have quizes, workshops and talks instead of music and liveliness. We do have some cultural programmes once or twice a year like onam. We have 3 libraries on the campus which are open 24/7 during the exam period. The libraries (and classrooms) have centralised ACs. We have a lot of clubs that are fairly active, but the administration makes it very difficult for clubs to arrange activities due to lack of funding. However the club experiences are good. The clubs are student run along with a faculty advisor who oversees the activities that are being done.
I have not opted for the hostel facility mainly because of the cramped conditions in the hostels that they provide. AU has a tieup with local FLH hostels, I was earlier planning on staying there but the living conditions were bad, crampped spaces, high costs, bad tasting food and very VERY rude and judgemental staff (esp the warden for the girls hostel Tabbu). The girls hostel has a curfew after 11pm and the boys hostel has no curfew.
The placements for M. Pharmacy is 90% lj ip is the best college in the Ahmedabad for pharmacy, commerce, class room etc the placements is too good in lok jagruti institute of pharmacy the placements for commerce is also good
They are good after m pharma around 90% but after b pharma not much because students opt to go for further education overall it’s is good and students a can rely on placement after completion of their course
Average CGPA should be more than 8. Packages providing will be approx 1.5-3.0 LPA. The placement is about 90%. The packages provided are good and satisfactory. After completing this bachelor's degree I would go for masters degree.
No placements are there . The aveeagw placement in the market is about 1.5 to 4.5 lakhs .As compared to the different field the packages for the freshers are very low . But the faculties based on their refrences they give the opportunity.
Plans after course generally comprise of of masters, as there is saturation of jobs in B. Pharm market, and masters help in skill development and making students employable in the industry as well as education.
Good placements after masters and bachelor’s the support is full from the institution and the companies come to collage and interview us and the placement are 90% and above with the good package expecting
All the faculties in the teaching staff are well qualified and give really good guidance for the curriculum and practical knowledge for each and every subject. The faculties also encourage participation in various extra curricular activities to enhance social networking and other skills.
Curriculum is well structured. The faculty members are also very knowledgeable and helpful whenever we need guidance they are always ready to help and exams are taken may times in one sem like we have mid sem 1 and 2 and internal practical and external practical and final end semester exam.
I havent got any job offer or placement from this University because i m a Diploma student but i will definitely try to search by myself for the job opportunities.I would rather handle my home business may be an 9 to 5 Job.
I have selected this course because of placement opportunity. Faculties members are highly qualified and they usually teach using PPT, white board, computer, etc . There is one mid term exam and one gtu exam per semester.
