Ahmedabad University - Academically good or Culturally?

- University Centre Building in the campus is one of my favorite place. That building does not have any classrooms but it is built for students cultural activities like there are music studios, cafeterias , restaurants, gym, activity rooms, etc. It is really well designed also the architect who designed UC has won several international awards for designing that building.
- SAS Library is a great place in college it is in the School Arts and Sciences building. One of the best feature of that library is that it is full white in color like its walls are white, chairs and furniture is all white. The reason it is whole white because it it creates atmosphere of positivity and increases efficiency of work.
Dislikes
- GICT building is the college of engineering student, it is very old and dull looking. Its classrooms are dark and tiles are green. That building makes me get out of there instead of studying there.
- High credit system for Engineering students. The Engineering students have to complete like 146 credits in 4years while BBA and BA students just need to complete 120 which gives them way more free time then Btech students. They are always more Engaged in th sports and club activities while we are struggling to keep up with our classes and assignments.
Remarks :
Factors that made me choose the college: i) Foreign Credit based system: Ahmedabad University provides a credit based academic system which allows students to take different courses from different majors so student does not limit themselves to their major instead there is an openess to variety of courses for e.g My major is Computer Science but still if I want to study some arts/ management courses for my interest, I can take those courses marking them GER or Minor courses. ii) Study abroad options Admission process: I joined the college during Covid 19 Quarantine period so there were no rounds, admissions were based on JEE score.
Course Curriculum Overview :
For BTECH Computer Science , we need to complete 146 credits in 4 years. There are many different types of courses like 1. Major Core: Major core are the mandatory courses that a student needs to take for their chosen major. For ex my major is CSE , my major courses are Data Structures, Computer programming, etc. 2. Major Elective : Major Electives are the courses one can take after the 2nd year for their specific branch in their major in which they want to focus more and shape their career in that direction. 3. GER: Total 10 GER courses are need to be done throughout 4 years, which includes courses from different majors like biology, Performing Visual Arts, Mathematics, Data Science, Humanities and Languages. As one student should have basic knowledge of all this fields 3. Minor: A student can do minor in any other major other than he is pursuing in which he needs to complete 6 courses in order to complete minor. The exams are difficult to score good marks.
Internships Opportunities :
A student have two options for Internship, one is summer internship & No placement and second is Internship +placement. Summer Internship is of 3 months while the internship +placement is for 6 months training period in the company a student get placed. I have done a summer internship in Deep Learning & Biometry research under professor Mehul Raval, it is one of my key achievement in my academic journey.
Placement Experience :
Placements & Job Opportunities are average currently, the career development cell is still developing in AU. Eligibility Criteria for placements if CGPA above 2.4 / 4.0. Recruiters: IQM, Injala, Future First, Toddle, Quicko, Amuse labs, Smytten, Cygnet One, rt Camp, etc. Highest Package in 2024: Future First (13 lacs) average package : 5-6 Lacs percentage of students getting placed: 50-60% Upon graduation I am looking for opportunities where I can contribute my Data Science, Machine learning and Deep learning skills.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I joined Ahmedabad University in 2021 at that time the fee was 85k/ semester but after that has been increased to 150k/semester, My fee structure: Tuition Fees: 1st Year : 170,000 2nd Year : 170,000 3rd Year: 170,000 4th Year : 210,000 ( extra 40k for ISP course) Material/Books fees: Around Rs.2500/ Semester i.e 20,000 for 4 years. There are different scholarships that are available, like Merit based Scholarship where the first three rankers of the batch in any year gets their that year's full fee waived. Then there is financial aid where student can apply if he/she has been facing any unavoidable circumstance like family emergency, then university will provide aid in fees. My batchmates also get MYSY scholarship where they get their 50% fees waived.
Campus Life :
Many fests are organized by different colleges in the campus like there is Tech. Ingenium from the Science college, Chiasma fest from Arts college, sports fest, youth fest. The life at campus is very lively and always busy in some cultural activities. There are more than 16 different clubs in Ahmedabad University like sports club, music club, dance club, theatre club, film appreciation club, photography club, design club, Programming club etc. There are many events organized throughout the year like there is AUPL ( Ahmedabad University Premier league), Tiki Taka football fest, RAQUETS competitions. All the clubs are managed by students only. There are total 3 libraries on campus on in each college, also the library have many books, online repositories, journals, magazines available.
Hostel Facilities :
I didn't opted for Hostel. But I can still write review based on my knowledge and reviews from my friends. The food quality is below average & menu is very repeating and regular. The hostel and dining is a tie up partnership with accomodation firm named FLH (feels like home). Hostel is quite expensive than the other PGs around the campus. The area Navarangpura where AU is located is one of the poshest area of Ahmedabad So the if I rent a PG its going to cost around 10-14k per month but the hostel cost 16-20k per month.

They are good after m pharma around 90% but after b pharma not much because students opt to go for further education overall it’s is good and students a can rely on placement after completion of their course

Average CGPA should be more than 8. Packages providing will be approx 1.5-3.0 LPA. The placement is about 90%. The packages provided are good and satisfactory. After completing this bachelor's degree I would go for masters degree.

No placements are there . The aveeagw placement in the market is about 1.5 to 4.5 lakhs .As compared to the different field the packages for the freshers are very low . But the faculties based on their refrences they give the opportunity.

Plans after course generally comprise of of masters, as there is saturation of jobs in B. Pharm market, and masters help in skill development and making students employable in the industry as well as education.

All the faculties in the teaching staff are well qualified and give really good guidance for the curriculum and practical knowledge for each and every subject. The faculties also encourage participation in various extra curricular activities to enhance social networking and other skills.

Curriculum is well structured. The faculty members are also very knowledgeable and helpful whenever we need guidance they are always ready to help and exams are taken may times in one sem like we have mid sem 1 and 2 and internal practical and external practical and final end semester exam.

I havent got any job offer or placement from this University because i m a Diploma student but i will definitely try to search by myself for the job opportunities.I would rather handle my home business may be an 9 to 5 Job.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I have selected this course because of placement opportunity. Faculties members are highly qualified and they usually teach using PPT, white board, computer, etc . There is one mid term exam and one gtu exam per semester.
