- Facilities like AC in hostels, freedom to go outside campus and sport facilities.
Dislikes
- Management is quite slow. You have to go through a lot of processes to get a thing done in campus.
- Food outlets, grocery stores in campus have a very limited menu
Remarks :
IIT Gandhinagar encourages freedom among its students freedom to choose your courses, inter-hostel mobility and free to go out of the campus at any time of the day this has been a choosing factor for me. For admissions, you must secure a decent rank in IIT-JEE advanced to get your desired course. Courses are selected on the basis of your rank through JOSAA counselling and you also have to submit around 35000 rupees when your branch is allocated.
Course Curriculum Overview :
IIT Gandhinagar offers a well-rounded BTech program that emphasizes both academic rigour and holistic development. For BTech students IIT GN has a flagship 4 weeks foundation program which will introduce you to all the extra-curricular skills like dancing, sports, acting and values for your future career, also every student has to complete fours semesters of PE course in order to graduate. All the faculty at IIT GN are PHDs from top indian and foreign universities and have very deep grasp of their domain. Faculty here are very friendly and student can easily interact with them to clear their queries. IIT GN follows a two-exam system, but the course policy mostly depends on the instructor.
Internships Opportunities :
Compaines like DE Shaw, SKan AI , Google , Barclays have visited the campus for internships for SDE roles with stipend more than 1 lakh rupees per month. Companies like Texas Instruments,JSW,Puma, Samsung Research Institute also visited the campus for SDE, Core electrical, manufacturing and business analyst role with stipend form 35k to 70k per month.
Placement Experience :
Placement at IIT GN is good for the CSE department as most of the companies are software-based. Companies like Graviton, Zomato, Google, InMobi have visited the campus for SDE, Qunat and product management roles. Google have selected 3 student in the 2024-25 placement year while Graviton only took 2 student with 48 LPA CTC. Students in their last second semesters are generally eligible for placements. Placement starts around mid October after the mid sem exams. Highest package was offered by Zomato which was 52 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for an open category student is around three lakhs rupees per year, which amounts to around 1.5 lakh rupees per semester for the BTech course. The tuition fee is 1 lakh per semester, and the rest includes the hostel, mess, laundry, student- development and other fees. The total hostel fee is 14250 rupees per semester, and the mess fee is 19300 rupees per semester. For SC/ST students, a full waiver of the tuition fees is provided. For students of other categories financial aid is provided on the basis of parental income. Students whose annual parental income is less than 2.5 lakh rupees per annum are granted a full tuition fee waiver, while students whose parental income is between 2.5 to 5 lakh are provided a two-thirds tuition fee waiver. Student loan facilities are also available with zero interest rates, which can be paid by students after graduation.
Campus Life :
Social life at IIT GN is very vibrant and welcoming. We have our annual technical summit, Amalthea, conducted in November, and our cultural yearly fest, Blithchron, conducted in the month of February. We have an average-sized library consisting of many books. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned with projectors and whiteboards. Our sports complex contains an athletic track, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, three squash courts, six badminton courts, and one indoor basketball and volleyball court. Independent clubs like MAPRC and some under-student councils like Vinteo and 16Pixels have a strong presence on campus.

Average CGPA should be more than 8. Packages providing will be approx 1.5-3.0 LPA. The placement is about 90%. The packages provided are good and satisfactory. After completing this bachelor's degree I would go for masters degree.

No placements are there . The aveeagw placement in the market is about 1.5 to 4.5 lakhs .As compared to the different field the packages for the freshers are very low . But the faculties based on their refrences they give the opportunity.

I have selected this course because of placement opportunity. Faculties members are highly qualified and they usually teach using PPT, white board, computer, etc . There is one mid term exam and one gtu exam per semester.
