I joined this college because of my seat allotment, which I entered during the selection process. The college does not have any written tests for admission. But they will look for the Cut-off rank of your specific exams, like K-CET, COMED-K, etc. Except these there are also seats allotted for management people who will have to pay a hefty amount to get the seat.
The college comes under a university called VTU( Visvesvaraya Technological University). My college is affiliated to this university as the majority of the colleges in Karnataka are. So the curriculum is totally based on VTU. We should follow what they provide. I chose this course as I was a passionate computer enthusiast. Coming to the faculties, most of them are well educated ( majority of the faculties are having PhD degree). But that doesn't mean they teach good. Most of the Associate lecturers teach for the sake and go. But I have seen some senior faculties who are well versed in their subjects and very interested to teach us. We will be having Internal tests every month, most of them are pretty easy depending on the semester.
The college did provide me an internship at an Agency company called PRASUNET where I did an Android development Internship for a month. Till then we haven't got any internship opportunity from the college.
The college has a campus placement thing actually. We get training for aptitude and interview practice from our 3rd year. The eligibility criteria is like the student should not have any active backlogs and their 10th and 12th percentage is considered. Sometimes the CGPA is also considered. We have had a few companies like MathCo, Mphasis, Soti Next, 1Lattice, Junglee Games, etc... Till now we have only 1 student who got placed at MathCo. looking forward for my chance and others too. The highest package offered here was 16LPA by Junglee Games. The lowest package was offered by MathCo for 3LPA. The percentage of students getting placed at final is uncertain, So I would not talk more about it.
The total fee will vary for each student. It's because of the recommendation management in the college, I guess. The fee for students who come through by writing entrance exams like K-CET, CO-MEDK, or any other exams that are accepted in this state is 100000, and up to some 25k will be charged for transportation fees. 5k per year for exams registration(which is charged separately). The college majorly accepts scholarships from a government whose portal is called "SSP Scholarship" where they provide up to 25k per student depending on their income certificate and other stuff. While management students are not eligible for government scholarships. The fee of some of my batchmates vary from 100000 (1L) to 200000(2L).
The college's infrastrucutre is pretty good and we have a nice architecture. Not to brag but, we will have TV serials shooting done in our college at least once in a 3 months. We have a fest called Aarohana which is done usually around in the month of June and July. The Library is very good with having multiple number of books for a specific subject and surprisingly we also have self-help books too. Coming to the sports and extracurricular activities we have clubs for that managed by a representative from every year(1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year students). We have inter-college competitions and tournaments too. The most famous sports club in our college is Basketball. We are also having clubs for academics too. We are currently running a GDSC club (Google Developers Club) where we learnt Cloud Computing in 2nd year and Android Development in the 3rd year.
I am a day scholar. I haven't opted for a Hostel but, my college definitely has a pretty good hostel. I heard from my friends who stay at the hostel. No Non-Veg is prepared here. The hostel will have a Wifi-facility constanstly
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
