GGDSD College : An honest Review
Likes
- I like how chill the campus life is and how there is no fuss over the attendance, the issue can be fixed with a simple fine payment
- Clubs and societies culture of the club is pretty decent for building a social life.
Dislikes
- The faculty is not that good but some of them are still lenient
- The infrastructure is not that good and there are barely any ACs in the college and the fans are not that great either.
Remarks :
There was no group discussion, admission to GGDSD is based totally on your 12th class merit, that is the only requirement, you just need to get the minimum cut off that is required for admission which is normally around 88 in the last round
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course because it aligns with my career plan other than that it is pretty much the best college for commerce in chandigarh in terms of reputation. Exams as for the mst were taken very casually and it depends totally on the teachers.
Internships Opportunities :
There have been no such opportunities offered yet, we are being told that we might get some chance at it in the second year but for the first year it is pretty rare and that we have to find them on our own.
Placement Experience :
I have been told that placements and job oppurtunities depend highly on your cgpa and mostly on campus placements are offered only to B.com students, if well qualified, some bba students do get them as well but it is a rare scenario.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Year wise the fees is approximately 41000+examination fee. The admission fee is around 200-400. The fee has increased from last year due to NEP policy and the course being a 4 year now. We have not been told about any scholarships.
Campus Life :
The infrastructure is pretty old but it is still fine, the books and library is really good in my opinion, i found most of the books i was looking for. Social life in the college mostly depends on the clubs you join other than that it is not easy to build a good social life.
Hostel Facilities :
I have not opted for the hostel but my friends say that the hostel mess food is good but they do run out of it if you are late for the meal time. Hostel fee is around 100000 a year including everything.

College offers on campus placements opportunities in the 4th year of the course . Many reputed companies like Apple , Amazon , PhonePe , Maruti Suzuki etc visits campus for rhe placements. Highest and average package is around 60 lakhs and 17 lakhs respectively . 90 % students got placed this year

I don't have much idea about eligibility criteria because I have been in the clg 3 months. Company like Jp Morgan godrej britannia etc are the tip recruiters in our branch. This semester My H and Q company have given intern to many students. I am planning for government jobs. 40% of students are places in my branch.

Placemnts are better than other nits like hamirpur nit Jalandhar and nit kurukshetra also better than some private college like thapar its avg is like 13 lakh and median is 12 lakh for electrcal its same median avg is 14.5 and cse avg goes 20+ and ai avg 19 lakhs

placements are good and you can get the official data on college websity of my branch 94 placed out of 127 and avg package is 13.1 and median is 12 lpa but cse avg this year goes 20 + lpa but lower branch like civil has some low placemnt stats as many students go for foriegn ms or higher studies or gate psu from civil

Placements are average on comparison with other private colleges around here Highest package this year - 11.3Lpa The teachers help very much in placements and internship . The TPC cell of the college is dead for their work

Placement Experience :
The placement rate of chitkara is great from the starting of third year you can apply for placements . Various companies like Wipro,hero, Tata motors, Reliance, Lenovo visits for placements. The average package is around 8 lpa and heights is 45 lpa, from the college there are 100% placement rate.

Placement Experience :
There is minimum 4 months of internship we have to do in 6th semester and on campus opportunities is very good. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, BMW, jp Morgan, AMEX came with highest package of 86 LPA

Course Curriculum Overview :
I was never interested in this course but due to family stress I was forced to do this and later on it was much intrested than any other subject. The beginning and end of universe is all what engineering teaches us and if somebody will find it not interesting then he should cut himself from this world.

The placement is quite very low for my department and my course. University is practicing for encouraging more companies for our course placement. It is improving but now the placement is low for my course . Like from last year only 5 were placed out of 60.
