I was getting HBTU kanpur EEE but CSE in CUSAT which is what i wanted and CUSAT being a state college , also through some peoples suggestion I chose this college. CUSAT has good Average Placement scenario ,Good opportunities to develop and grow these days , Variety of clubs to follow for passion , good rank holding teams, Tinkerspace and similar growth oriented firms are nearby. Other things i didn't like is underdeveloped Infrastructure , some strict profs , Not good teaching style , Less interaction , You might feel lost here sometimes because of this, feeling of college is not made for North Indian students. For admission you have to give CUSAT-CAT exam that as PCM questions. Cut off for CSE ranges goes last till 1200 rank approx(if vacant seats during spot round). There's no such GD/PI for admission. If u have given JEE mains - then you can easily score good rank in CUSAT-CAT. or else you can try practice solving similar quesion.
I always wanted to go for computer science course , so CS-Engineering. but talking about faculty - they have excellent qualified PHD level profs, with good network and reach , some has published books and cited awesome research papers. but what lacks in few of them is teaching styles, i.e. not understanding students them as beginners . They are supportive. There are two internals I and II (probably each month) , with semester exam at the end. There isn't much of a problem with internals but you have to write perfectly and with points. Exams are not hard but relatively moderated level.
Some internships are shared by students themselves , college till semester 5 doesnot do anything while some profs share opportunities. Internship semester leave is provided in S8 for six months approved internships by company. Some companies offere PPOs and internships for 4rth years. Internships and lot of offers are available in Kochi itself.
Placement are average with roughly aroun 5.5-6 L/Annum. companies like cisco ,tcs ,accenture, sap labs , ey, soti , ibm , rently ,infosys , lascade , comes(maybe different one or two). lowest offer was around 3.5 by tcs, and others but higher by cisco. Around 60-70% get placed. Candidate should have 7.5 or above GPA.
Year wise Fees is around Rs. 1 Lakh ALL India merit. While first time admission you have to pay around Rs. 5000 something for admission and PTA. Fees to be paid semester wise (Rs. 50000 per semester) and this includes all the exam,Labs ,class, etc. I had quota(General) as NON-Keralite but my batch mates from here Kerala itself having State Merit have to around Rs. 58000 Yearly (Rs 28000 per sem). There are lot of scholarship opportunities are there especially for girl student. Geojit Foundation scholarships, Kerala E-Grants ,Common Wealth , etc are there based on the family income and caste here (For keralites).
College tech fests like Sargam ,Dhishna ,etc, individual hostel fests and Other branch events happens almost every year with good sponsors , nice games, events, etc and amazing department based showcases. Availability of books are there is SOE and university library - you can take three books at once using CARDS in SOE lib. and University library. Amenity centre has student store , startup incubation and funding board , Hostel chief warden , with GYM , recreation room , Bio tech centre , labs , SOCE for student team and group skill development , etc There is playground with different courts and pitches for sports. MESAC cusat for helping students with ntoes and PYQs , Team Horizon as robotics team , Marutsakha as Aerodynamics team , etc are there run by students of different branches representing CUSAT at national and internation level.
College life is Meh if you're North Indian but you'll get along within year or two. You won;t get hostel in first year but from second semester ending onwards. Hostel life is awesome, with some fights to celebrating diwali ,Onam , etc with boom , and individual hostel fests with very less hostel fees of about 500/Month of two sitter room + additional guest if kept and agreed by inmates. Food quality for Malayalam Mess is good , but there's nothing good to say about North Indian mess , unhygienic , okayish quality - but better than eating from outside hotels. Usually people perefere to eat at someone's flat. Hostel infrastructure is good. Very much affordable. There are hostels nearby SOE campus itself with average rent of 4000/month Mess anywhere is aoruond Rs. 3000-4000.
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
