Remarks :
I choose this college on the basis of its academic excellence and job placement. As the college is situated at the heart place of Trivandrum many companies are showing interest of placement options. The only way to join in this college is by writting KEAM examination and score a rank upto a range of 6000 for general category for admission in ECE. The limitation of the college is it's area coverage. College is only a 6 acres of land, no mens hostel and no playground.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The top most branch in Government Engineering College Barton Hill is Electronics and communication engineering. As per academics last academic year , GECBH lies on top 5 among colleges under KTU and university topper was from GECBH. Excellent faculties and academic facilities makes GECB to achieve these academic excellence.
Placement Experience :
As the college lies in the heart of the city Trivandrum, many top companies and approaching with high placement packages. One of the main company is company under Tata and many more software companies. But approaching core companies are comparatively less. During year 2024, top recruiter was Tata Elxsi with a salary package of approximately 12 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The BTech program at Government engineering College Barton Hill follows the state government's affordable standardized P structure. Tution fees is approximately 8000 per year. This fees is consistent for every government colleges across kerala. During the time of admission a caution deposit of 1000rs and some fixed amount of PTA fund, Bus fees, etc. are collected. At the time of admission a fees around 14000 to 15000 is collected as per government statements. Fee reduction available for students of SC/ST/OBC category. State level and national level scholarships are available for students based on the category and income. Some of the scholarships are Merit scholarships, E-grandtz, EWS scholarships, etc.
Campus Life :
GEC Barton Hill host many programs. One of the main fest is named as Aagneya which the the culture and tecnical fest of GEC Barton Hill. It is the one of the top most technical collage fest in south India. Lots of books and journals are available in GECB library which makes students to refer for their studies and helps to attain good academic progress. Absence of a playground is one of the major issues of GECB. But it doesn't affects the sports in GECB. GECB has an excellent Football, Volleyball, Cricket teams for both women's and men's has has many individual champions under University. Not only sports GECB has shown its talent in university culture fest by winning many prizes. Many clubs and societies are working in GECB. Main technical societies are IEEE, CSI, ASME....and clubs include NSS, Dance Club, Music Club, Fasion club, etc.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
