Remarks :

I chose this college as, at that time, it was a cheap bargain for me in terms of fees. And as engineering wasn't my interest, I enrolled whatever I got first. I had only given the AEEE exam, which is conducted by Amrita itself, and it uploads more weightage than JEE for enrollment. After thatit was just the batch and campus preferances to be filled and I was alloted the branch and campus with the Fee slab. I could have opted for better campus .i.e Coimbatore. But would have lost the scholarship. No cuttof was released for me only my rank was published. No interview or anything was conducted for our batch.

Course Curriculum Overview :

If you are not a native, then I would advise you to please don't join this campus. There is a hell lot of bias against students who are not native of Kerala. the diversity i can divide in 55% locals, 40% telegus, and rest 5 % other northern states. The Campus works more like a school does and it revolves around the calender schedule of the ashram nearby. The exams dates aren't fixed, sometimes we got 2 months of sem break as hostels were full with ashrams visitors, and sometimes we got 13 days of sem break as we were lagging in semester timings. Faculty is qualified, but there are 3 major issues with faculty over all. 1. they focus more on there personal paper publishing tasks than the course. 2. the general biased behavior against non-mallu students. 3. Majority of them live nearby so they treat the college more like school, where they come at 9 in the morning teach/work and leave at 5. no extra curricular is appreciated, no extra efforts are put on by majority of the faculty.

Internships Opportunities :

I haven't applied for any placements as i dont wanna pursue a corporate career. But most the placements offered are internships leading to FTO. in 3rd year few internships were offered which were asking quite high CGPA.

Placement Experience :

eligibility is 6.5 CGPA. otherwise it depends on companies. the placement is great. but the issue is you are expected to visit coimbatore campus for interview. TCS came this year took interview of 300 students hired 100+. For EEE companies like, volvo and dasult also came (we had to visit coimbatore campus). right now in EEE highest placement is 17 LPA from texas Instruments. out of 42 students in our class only 21 opted for placement. till now only 9 are placed. My personal plans are to join the armed forces/ merchant navy.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

1st year I paid 100000 as I had scholarship. The scholarship is divided in 4 slabs. 1st Slab 1L per year fees, 2nd Slab 1.5L and 3rd Slab is 1.75L and 4th Slab is general with no scholarship i.r full fees 2L per year. You need to maintain a CGPA of 8+ at the end of each year with no current or past backlogs to be applicable for Scholarship the next year. For the 2nd,3rd and forth year I paid 2L as I didn't have 8 CGPA in 1st year. There isn't any reservation for SC,SCT,OBC ,etc. But for NRI students if they have cleared the enterance exam i.e AEEE. then the fees is 4L. if the student is of any other nationality they conduct a interview before joining to check the financial burden. if they are poor its totally free. or else its the normal payment scheme. Hostels for NRI and foreign students is free. For the newer batches (2024 joinee) the fees are quite high upto 4L for slab 4. out of 100% of seats availible 70 percent is filled by AEEE and 30% by JEE.

Campus Life :

Fest are a joke On this campus, we have a fest named Vidyut, which is supposed to be conducted each year, but in my 3.5 years of campus life, it was conducted only once!! They just keep postponing the fest year semester. This year's fest was supposed to happen in feb 2024; it was postponed to July, then nov, and now there is no update. About books and journals, the library is great, and even teachers support with e-materials. Classroom infrastructure is a joke. For my first 2 semesters, the class room allotted to EEE students didn't have a projector. We had to beg to get our class changed. The forward classes (forward location in the building, i.e., closer to the entrance) had their benches changed twice, as apparently they didn't like the first one. Most importantly, these classes are allotted to CSE batches with 80+ students, to show the visitors about their infrastructure.

Hostel Facilities :

I had to opt for hostels, as anyone who lives 40+ km away has to opt for a hostel. hostel fees is 1L annually. only locals can leave on weekends. for 1st year boys they have to stay in ashram which is around 1.5-2km away from campus. the food is very bad, only the lunch is edible, as the lunch is served in campus as even faculty eat the same food. morning food is okayish ( halwa, sambar, bread, jam, idli, and some other random south indian food). Dinner is worst on thrusday its maggie which are basically halwa. friday is some manchurian, sundays is egg briani. the problem is in the dinner and breakfast , which is served in hostel mess. the food isn't treated as food, its treated as some donation, everyone is ill-mannered, and hygiene is imaginary. Rotis are manchine made and undercooked. overall hostels are hell. Local PGs are not good as there isn't many stundents who are allowed to stay without hostel. if u don't register for hostel they will not register your acdemics.

Sct review

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
