- Campus. The CUSAT campus is spread across 130 acres .The greenery and vibrant campus life is great. Also there is fests and events conducted often. Almost every months there is some programs
- The Campus is at the heart of the Cochin city. So many places like Fort kochi, Marine drive, Vypin, Lulu mall etc are very close
Dislikes
- There is many infrastructure is under construction and still pending.
- The university is not much good for sports and arts as compared to other universities in kerala. The competitiveness is also less due to autonomous University
Remarks :
This is NBA tier 1 accredited Engineering College, and only NIT-C and this college have tier 1 accreditation in Kerala. This is a prestigious engineering college in Kerala. CUSAT is currently NIRF rank 1 university in Kerala. Also CUSAT campus is in the heart of the Cochin city. There is entrance exam conducted by CUSAT which is known as CAT and it is somewhat tough. There is no GD/PI for admission.
Course Curriculum Overview :
CUSAT is the best institution for mechanical engineering in Kerala. And the curriculum updates in every 4 years. All the permanent faculties are very much qualified and all of them are PHD holders. The exams are conducted semester vise and two internal exams is also conducted before regular exams for internal marks.
Internships Opportunities :
Many internship opportunities are available for CUSAT students in Cochin shipyard, BPCL, HMT, Apollo tyres , FACT, Cochin Port, Cochin refineries etc. With stipend internship are available in Keltron. However students chose quality of company above stipend.
Placement Experience :
The placements for mechanical engineering is less compared to other branches. Like CS, IT,Safety and Fire engineering, Naval architecture and ship building. Although there is many add on courses available for mechanical engineers so, many of us are choosing higher education instead of placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is two types of merits. State merit and All India merit. The students from outside Kerala is in All India merit and students from Kerala is in state merit. If there is any remaining seats in All India merit. It'll be available for Kerala students.The All India merit fee is almost 50000 per semester And State merit fees is almost 26000 to 28000 per semester . This includes all the fees except hostel and food.There is additional fines for late remittance of fees. For SC and ST students there is no fees. And additional scholarships like e grantz , MCM etc are available for eligible students.
Campus Life :
Life at CUSAT is a blend of academics and vibrant social activities. The campus fosters growth through cultural diversity and clubs like SAE, IEEE, and the Literary Society. Modern infrastructure includes spacious classrooms, labs, hostels, and recreational areas. Major events like Sargam and Dhishna in February showcase talent and innovation.
Hostel Facilities :
Every hostels have their own mess run by students itself so the food is in top quality and variety of food including veg and non veg is available. Application for hostels is through websites and the allotment is based on distance, reservation and year wise. The hostel facilities are not enough for every students so first few years you have to stay in private pgs and hostels near the campus which is available for rs2500 to 3500. Out mess is available in college hostels for students staying outside the hostel. The college hostel fee is 500rs and 120 rs per day for mess.

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
