Remarks :

For admission in this college the process is same as for any of the NIT's and other IIIT's i.e you will be get a seat alloted here based on jee mains score. Other than that there is no criteria for admission(no group discussion and interview are required). Talking about tha admission you have to score a very good percentile In jee mains to get admission in any of the branches here for general and OBC category students 98+(98.5+ would be more preferable) percentile would be enough for cse and for girls it would be around 97.5 + percentile. For mechanical and smart manufacturing branches you need to score around 93+ percentile and for Electronic and communication for male 97.5+ and for females 96+ would be enough. For sc/st students 94 + percentile for cse is enough 90 + for ece is enough and 80-87/88 percentile is enough for me and sm. After securing these much percentage you can get your desired branch from josaa counselling and csab counselling (which is held after jossa).

Course Curriculum Overview :

So I am an electronic and communication engineering third year student and taking about academic it is not that easy like you can't just just easily score good marks you have to study and attend classes regularly to score good marks and have a good CGPA. The professor are chill specifically ece professors are chill other department professor are not that chill. Chill in the sense that they do not force you attend classes and to follow the 75% attendance rule which most of the other professor take very seriously. The teaching methods and the professors are all very well qualified and helping (some are not very helping). Talking about exams every thing happens timely most courses follow the same structure like 2 quiz,1 midsem and 1 end term some courses may have labs and projects also. For cse people there are a lot of projects which are helpful also for placements.

Internships Opportunities :

I have not yet got an internship but have given various interviews and online assessment of many companies. First one was curefit which offered 50k stipend for Summer intern. Recently I was rejected for advance engineering intern at Accenture which also offered 50k stipend for Summer internship. And there are many other big companies also visiting the campus in coming months.

Placement Experience :

Placement and job opportunities have decreased over the last few years but still you will get placed if you have studied good enough. The placement for cse and ece is good and for me and sm you have to work hard. Branch wise For cse around 70% gets placed and average salary is around 15+ lpa. For ece around 60% gets placed and average is around 13-14+ lpa. For me and sm placement is little less around 40-50 % gets placed for salary around 10 lpa. Top recruiters are oracle, samsung, play simple, meesho, cisco and many other companies are there. For third year internships also many companies are there like curefit , code nation, goldman Sachs and other are there. NOTE: most of the students here try to get off campus internship in very good companies like Google, microsoft, amazon. This college is also very good at gsoc and a top performer in various hackathons around the country.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

So basically you have to pay tution fees, hostel fees only. All other fees like gymkhana charge, internet charges, medical charges are all included in your tution fees. For 22 batch the tution fees is 72740 and hostel fees 11000 for one sem. And for first and second year students mess is compulsory so 15000 per sem for that also. However the fees have slightly increased for 24 batch. The tution fees is about 79250 and hostel fees is 11000. For sc/st category students they don't need to play tution fees they just pay academic fees which is also the part of tution fees. For sc/st students 7500(academic fees) and 11000 (hostel fees) this is the only amount they need to pay per sem excluding mess fees. For new students (1st sem) they also need to pay onetime fees of 15500 this also includes caution money of 3000 which may get refunded you have no dues at any department of the college.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is good I can say and depends on you also like if you are involved in various club activities (sports , cultural and technical) then you will never be bored. The official cultural fest is tarang but that does not happen every year or in a specific month the last time it happened in around sept/october 2023 and it was really not worth it as none of the celebrities they promised came. So if you want to see fests this is not a very good place for that. Talking about technical fest Abhikalpan it is supposed to happen this year on March. The sports fest gusto has also not happened past Covid so there is no fest culture. Library is pretty good and most of the books are available. Sports culture is pretty good here like you can join any club and play for them lead the team hold club positions (this is the only good thing here in extracurricular activities). Cultural and technical societies are also very active here so you can join that also

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are good and you will get enough space in rooms. For first and second year you will be allotted h3 and h4 hostels which have triple sharing rooms and for 3 and final year you will get single rooms. Talking about the mess the food is not that good so after some times most people prefer eating in canteens (there are a lot of canteens here). There is no day scholars here all the students btech, mtech, phd lives inside the institute only.

Life at School Of Commerce, Devi Ahilya University

Placement Experience :

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

An unexpected journey

Placement Experience :

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.
