There in only a single interview over call which any person having basic knowledge can crack. This interview is just a formality. They are just keen on onboarding more and more students. I took admission in this college because of the quality of eduy and great placement offers which they market on their website most of which are fake.
The faculty of the college is no doubt fantastic. A lot of teachers are also having experience of IIMs but it is not at all worth it because there is zero management in college and every staff member is so rude. No one will help you even for a small thing. You are on your own for everything.
There were no internships offered by the college for Bcom students. All of my batchmates applied for internships by our own and off campus. No one would even care if you dont do an internship. It is not even mandatory for a Bcom student to opt for any internship.
At the time of admission it was told that there will be a lot of companies coming for Bcom but later we were told that there are no placements for Bcom in this college. We were not even allowed to sit in placements. After our formal protest we were allowed to sit but only for those companies which were asking us to relocate and not even paying half of what we deserve. The average salary for a company for which we were allowed to sit was giving approx 15000 per month. The highest package for a Bcom student was just 3 lakhs per annum. I have completed my course in June2024 and working at Grant Thronton since then for which I applied off campus.
One time registration fees is Rs15000 and some other one time expenses such as college dress and books costs approx Rs12000. The tution fee for the first semester is Rs60000 and it keeps on increasing by Rs2500 each semester. Scholarships are available on the basis of 10th and 12th marks. I was given scholarship of 16%(10th-82.8% and 12th-91.4%). Scholarships for Uttarakhand domicile and children of people serving in defence services is also available upto 30-40%. The hostel fee for each year ranges from Rs60000 to Rs100000 based on the type of room availed. It is mandatory to live in hostel for the first year if a student is from outside of Dehradun.
A fest called as Manfest is conducted each year in May-June in which the courses are divided amongst teams and all of them start their own business according to the theme given and compete with each other. Last year's theme was Metaverse. Basic amenities are not even present in the classroom. Sometimes the fans are not even working and it takes weeks to get them repaired. Even for the drinking water facility you have to go to the other side of the college and if you complain about anything no one will listen to you. There are zero sports and extracurricular activities on the campus. They will promise a lot at the time of admission but later you will realise it was all just a lie. There are various marketing and finance groups lead by the students but the support is only given to them who will gain a financial benefit for the college.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
