I chose this college for following reasons Only 25 km away from my hometown Chamba Affordable fees and scholarship Great infrastructure, rich and illustrious library and smart classrooms. No study pressure ( now, might be due to 75% min attend.) College is surrounded by hills and Tehri Lake completes the serene aesthetic of the place Cons- Zero support from teachers in academics as well as career. No placements. min 75% attendance no extra curricular and sports activities. We had to do everything by ourselves. The admission process is simple. Apply in the centralised counselling of Uttarakhand Technical University at uktech.ac.in during months of July& August. Eligibility for application is JEE mains but at later stages of counselling 12th in PCM is enough due to large number of vacant seats. I had 96% in 12th class, so I got in the 1st round of counselling.
My love for computer science began with my father's office computer . I loved to plug it's parts of them and reassemble them. I wanted to learn coding and apply them in self controlled robots. But the college curriculum killed my aspirants. In 1st year there was only 1 CS subject, that too was Basic C. Rest were Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical (yes, u read it right), electrical n electronics. In 2nd and 3rd year, there are core subjects including DS, algo, CN, Dbms, etc. There was one subject Data Analytics that was repeated in 3 sems. Yes, I had to write Hadoop map reduce for 3 term exams. Faculty was not interested in teaching and most of them had limited knowledge of their subjects. Teaching methods involved reading from PDFs, presentations and dictation from famous youtubers notes. There are 2 sessional exam of 30 marks in each sem and 1 term exam of 100 marks. 20 marks are for assignment and general conduct. Every subject had maximum of 150 marks. No cgpa was followed.
There are no companies that offer internship. But as I said earlier one can opt to join Colored Cow as intern. Initially, they give u tasks that involve creating an application for them using PHP and laravel. Then they may involve you with their client projects in any tech of their choice.
There is a software company in incubation cell of the college. Colored Cow offers students roles in their team that enable them to learn and upskill. But they pay nothing to the students. Good for exploring in 2nd or 3rd year. College offers zero internship and placement opportunities.

Campus Life is generally dull. Most days it is hard to find people in the campus. CIESZYC is annual tech-cultural fest of the college. We tried hard to restart it after Covid without any success. Fortunately, after our graduation our juniors revived the fest. There is E-Cell in the campus and it conducts atleast 1 event per month. It events include Ideathons, talks from entrepreneurs, etc. NSS is highly active offering cultural programes, awareness activities, field trips and blood donation campaigns. IHET cricket league, conducted by students, happens one in every semester. Students conduct tournaments for football, volleyball and chess. College team also participates in inter college tournament of the university. There is 1 ground in college, it is large and sufficient enough but needs revamp.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
