- Flexible time table and big and beautiful campus
- Advanced classrooms,greenish campus. We had a couple of grounds
- Best part is you can travel alot and even in the college you can connect to people from different backgrounds
Dislikes
- As it was an old college infrastructure is not soo good (old buildings….) Every student in nitc have to face crow shit on rajpat(you will get to know after getting into the college😂).
- As i am not from kerala i dont like food much. Yet it is good enough to survive!!!
Remarks :
Firstly,one need to give jee mains(JOINT ENTERANCE EXAMINATION) exam.one need to score very good marks to get into top 5 Nit’s Like my college NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY CALICUT.There will cutoffs based on you category.This is a type of competitive exam where students from all over the will give.people who can manage to get more than 95 percentile can get intlo NIT’s .Also few can avail a benefit of category.Even i had OBC cut off benefit.or else you will come under General category.I prepared for this exam for almost 2 years in an coaching institute.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I feel like course curriculum is bit old when i joined in the college but in my second year course curriculum got revised for my juniors,which is far better than ours! Faculties here are very highly qualified.Most of them are from Top colleges in the country,Top iit’s like iit madras,iit bombay etc… Method of teaching will vary from faculty to faculty.some of them teaches on the board amd some using ppt’s.Most of the faculty will use ppt’s,if board explaination need they will use board. Examination are conducted twice in a semester-Mid term & End semester examination,followed by class tests and surprise tests.
Internships Opportunities :
During this semester several companies approached our college which include BIS, L and T, not only this including all the companies i mention above .stipends will depend upon the company it will vary from company to company. I have done a internship outside the campus on polavaram dam.
Placement Experience :
Being in a NIT is already a perk of having very good exposure, you can connect to your alumni at ease.also faculties are from top iits so there are also very familier with the process they will help alot. There are top MNC’s like wipro, Accenture, Microsoft,TCS, Infosis,cognizant,HCL,swiss re etc… And also core companies like L&T, BOSCH, tata motors, Cisco, maruthi suzuki, D.E shaw, Goldman sachs , sap labs etc…
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It completely depends on which category you are and your income based.candidates whose Annual income is below 1 lakh for OBC has “0” fee.For general and EWS categories whose Annual income is between 1-499999 lakhs they had a fee of 41667/- per year. All SC & ST and PWD candidates had “0” fee. Fee is collected in two semesters as Monsoon and winter semester.There will be a onetime fee while joining for the first time which is of 52000/- in which you can remberse half of the amount if you are eligible,this fee is include of all the other fee like caution deposite,convocation fee,library fee,welfare fee,career development fee etc….If you are a general,EWS,OBC student with annual income more than 5 lakhs you need to pay 1,25,000/-.
Campus Life :
Students life at nit calicut is too good.no judgement.kerala is gods own country!! There are lot of places to visit and spend time,Too many mountains back waters. Students will have a lot of time if they can manage productively.Talking about clubs they are plenty of clubs you can get into based on you interests. Now,the main part,”FESTS”-there two main fest namely TATHVA AND RAGAM. Tathva-technical fest Ragam-cultural fest Both the fest is for 3 long days ,We will have proshow nights, food stalls,Road show,many more stalls,workshops what not…..! Many people from all around kerala and also from other states will come to the fests Tathva is in october 2024 and now its time for ragam 2025 (feb 21,22,23). Talking about sports-one can choose there choice of intrest and play,They will be taken to other Nits for the tournaments and inter NIT sports meet. I would say we have one of the best library in all the nits with all the books and journals.fully Air conditioned .
Hostel Facilities :
I wont say you will have homely food !! If you are from kerala you will enjoy food alot But if you are from north states and Andhrapradesh ,Telengana or from Tamilnadu you have to adjust a bit. Best part is you can choose your mess,you will have around 8 seperate messes you can choose accordingly. Talking about hostels they are good enough in 1st year-3 sharing room,whereas in 2nd and 3rd year -2 sharing room (bit conjusted). In 4th year you will have a hostel inside the campus and you will have a single room. Actually there is no need of staying outside in pg or rent based,there are plenty of hostels.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
