To be honest I am from Data science branch at IIT Palakkad Got such a good branch at such a low rank in one of the best performing 2G and 3G IIT’s If we talk about interviews or written test give JEE mains and then JEE Advanced and sit for JOSAA counselling.
Honestly the reason for choosing this college was just the IIT tag.Got this college at such a low rank and to be honest it is all worth it. The course curriculum is hectic with 85% attendance. You will be flooded with Assignments, VIVA,Lab and exams. Faculties are very talented like many of them ,some of them just come and give the lecture they don’t have anything to do with us. Overall the facilities are good ????
To be honest I am first year student writing this so I have no idea about internship and placements . Internship opportunities here are better because Palakkad is a industrial area so here internships and placements chances are more but skills are needed for that obviously.
So campus placements 2023-24 the campus placement is still going on. This year the highest package till now is recorded 54 LPA and average of 14.2 LPA Considering this is a new generation IIT the placements are much better than a private college engineering college.
Ok so let’s talk about fees For a general candidate the fees per semester is around 132500/- which includes all Tution fees and Hostel Fees + Medical Insurance and all the other stuff For a category student the Tution fees are waived off so they do not pay the Tution fees , so for a category student the fees is 32500/- per semester. Taking about scholarships there are ton of scholarship here you can get any if you can avail any of them.
If we talk about campus life to be honest the campus life is very small , though the campus area is about 504 acres but almost 60-70% land is still not used.Campus life if we talk about and events and fests it is worth it though it is a small IIT but it is doing great in such things as well. Being a new IIT this college has so many active clubs and doing much. Not much to say on this cause I am a 1st year student.
Ok so about the hostel first of all we have two campus here Nila and Sahyadri In Nila we have three hostels Tilang A(Girls), Tilang B(Boys) and Brindavani(Boys) , in Nila all first year students stay And Sahyadri campus has Malhar and Saveri Hostels in which all PhD , BTech and MTech seniors live. So about the newer hostels Malhar and Saveri like which were built like 2 years ago are fully new with gym, Indoor games setup and Multipurpose rooms and even a common study room in the hostels as well all air conditioned obviously without the rooms. Ok now about Brindavani and Tilang these hostels are little old 4-5 years old still the hostels condition is much better than other IITs. Hostel mess food is very stale no spice. If you are one who eats spicy food you won’t like this. Just apply for the college you will be randomly allotted the hostel and you room mates , you will get a specific mail regarding this when you apply for college via JOSAA counselling when you freeze the seat.
The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that
college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events, and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects, giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.
There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech. There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary
The faculity is generally experienced and supportive most students are satisfied. With the teaching clinical exposure. Facilities are friendly with the students. Regularly conducts class test and model exam to help students prepare for their studies and university examination. Faculties are high qualified and experienced
Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.
I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
As I'm a first year student I've not got information about the placement but there are so many placement options from South Indian Bank, icici bank and also from companies like deliotte etc The college has connection with many international companies too.
Minimum criteria for placement is for a student with minimum arrears.Even though supply there if you have skill then you will be placed .Amal Jyothi has a better placement compared to other college and is very good
