- Food can be better as there are stude ts from various places
- Altough campus wiffi is grrat but in some areas the phone network is not thaf great but still fine
Remarks :
As per me i researched the top bioinformatics departments in the country and one of them was in pondicherry university. Its fame come from its long standing good researchers and well established curriculum. And the reseqrch was mostly based on google searches, senior contacts and linkedin
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is well versed and witha variety of course both in department and across other departments. The faculty here is top notch they are good at what they do and also very research oriented which is what i was looking for. The exams were always om schedule and thorough with a fair scoring system too.
Internships Opportunities :
Intersnhop depemds on department some have integrated in their curriculum as well and one can always do the never endong cold mailing as well as other application such as winter or summer internships. I personally have done few internship such as HCU, NISER, Cambridge, Tempere uni(finland). My work solely focuses on bioinformatics and other allied fields
Placement Experience :
Loads of comapies come from placement there are elected placement coordinators from student as well as professors coordinating with companies based on each department. There are even some departments which provide a semester abroad with some proce reduction as well
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Every odd semesters the fees is like around 12 to 13 thousand and even semester its around 2 to 3 thosand. The mess fees is around 70 to 80 rupees per day and we have to pay for the whole semester at once. There are various scholarships starting from departmental scholarship where the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rankers in each semester get some amount in a fashion of 10, 7, and 5 thousand based on rank, apart from tgat for top 10 students are selected based on income criteria and also sgpa for some amount of money. Apart from these scholarship people avail the stae scholarships if quailified for it. For phd scholars the stipend is seperate. Dbt funded course such as mtech get their stipend directly from dbt.
Campus Life :
Pondicherry university campus is one of the best campuses i have seen by far along woth iisc, underneath the lush green forest covered campus the infrastructure is beautiful, and mostly wayy too big campus. The university also hold numerous festivals, for all religions, and there are number of cultural as well as non cultural groups from dancing to singing to startyp to bird watchign clubs, and many many others. Most of the clubs are student driven. The Pu communtiy is pretty updated with constant messages. There are various skits, jamming sessions, sports matches always on. Its like mumbai of colleges as the city never sleeps neither does pu. There are students here of varied cultures, religion, social, and geographical background but all live in harmony. Social awareness is also a big fa tor in this campus. There are plenty shops nearby the campus so they are always hustling woth starving students out there having there nth cup of tea after running that simmulation in their lab.
Hostel Facilities :
The mess food is alright after all depends on personal taste. The rooms are quite good and the hostels are constaly rennovated so living condition is not bad. The hostel price is not high its jsut a 1 to 2 thousand per year and the mess food as mentioned earlier is 70 to 80 per day.

There have campus placement after completing our course if we are wiling to do so on the affiliated colleges or off campuses of the university. For women also there have colleges at local and national level. Students also prefer to proceed their studies at global level by entering into international universities and other programmes.

The college has its own placement cell .each year almost 400-500 students are getting placed.the well know recruiters are TCS , Accenture,Bounteous , Capgemini etc.the highest package of cur end year is 12LPA.

Placement opportunities are excellent in SMVEC which is an attractive factor to join this college. Internships need to join based on our own intrest. TCS ans CTS is an main recruiting organisations in this college.

Eligibility for sitting In placement is that we should not carry backlogs and we have to maintain a decent cg of 7+ some companies do allow even you have backlogs but mostly they don't . In eee we have a good scope of getting palced this time everyone who sat for placements was placed and the highest core package of 12lpa which is actually good. Average was around 7 lpa for core in eee . I'll probably choose upsc career so this placement thing is not my piece of cake . Still our college is good for eee core placements

Job placement is quite bad in our university if you think to get addmission here you will fight for job . You have to apply directly to the companies. Companies are coming here but they didn't provide placement more than 30% .
Bharathiyar College of Engineering and Technology
Placement Experience :
The few companies which attended the placement drive were pharmaceuticals and sales companies, which weren't related to the field we pursued. Students attended the placement drive got placed and were able to bag below average packages. The percentage of students who got placed were around 40%. My plans were to go for higher studies. More emphasis could have been placed by the college on the placements and more opportunities could have been provided by the college for the students.

Placement Experience :
Every year students are placed in a week reputed companies like Amazon,Virtusa,TCS, Capgemini, Renault and so on. All the students having eligibility to attend the placements but some of the Top MNC expected 60% eligibility of throughout 10,12 and academic CGPA. So not eligible students also having more placements options to crack it.
