Remarks :

The reason why I chose ITER and not some other college is because ITER has good reputation and has always been outstanding in terms of placement and one main reason, it has a well-structured B.Tech curriculum that covers strong field of Computer Science engineering, with specialisation like, Internet of Things, AI/ML, Cybersecurity and Data Science aligning well with current industry needs. One bad aspect about the college that it is still considered a tier 2 college which prevents students from availing certain private/ government loan or scholarship schemes which are just for the tier 1 colleges. To get admission in ITER you either need to give their online SAAT exam or you also get direct admission on the basis of your JEE Mains percentile like me. The admission window opens in December and closes in August. After the main round there is mop-up round and then at the last there is a stray vacancy round. There is no Interviews or Group Discussions or anything.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I joined CSE(IoT) due to late admission, but I am aiming to switch to AI/ML or Data Science after 1st year, to do so you need 8.5 or 9 CGPA in your first year . We have 5 PhD-qualified professors for 5 subjects they experts in domain having thorough knowledge of how to teach and what to teach; they teach using smartboards making study visually more interactive. The professors are also approachable for doubts and guidance. Assessments include regular assignments, 2 quizzes before mid-Sem and 2 before end-Sem exams which helps in practicing the questions and boosting the knowledge, the quiz and the assignments also carry certain marks. Mid-Sem exam is of 30 marks, end- Sem is of 60 marks. Minimum 50% attendance is required to sit in the end-semester exam, and 75% attendance in all the subjects can add 5 bonus marks in each. My mid-Sem exam was easy and scoring; looking at the current syllabus, I feel that the end-semester exams might be a bit on the tougher side.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides students with internship opportunities too. You can apply for placements from second year onwards. They can apply for internships in the companies that come for placements. But you need to have a good resume and created atleast a single good project.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total year-wise tuition fees for B.Tech in CSE(IoT) that i would be paying is 3,15,000 which contains the fees for both the semesters, out of which I have already paid 157500 for the first semester during the time of admission. If you are opting for hostel then you also need to pay the hostel fees and the mess fees (both on yearly basis) together at the time of admission which is 45000 per year mess fees which is same for all and 60000 per year in my case since I had opted for a 3-seater non-AC room. You also need to pay 5000 as caution money and registration fees respectively. The lab fees, development and any other kind of fees are included in the tuition fee itself. The fees structure remains the same even if you belong to a different category. The college provides scholarship of 35000 per year to the first year students who have got more than 80% in their 12th exams. And if you want to continue availing the scholarship then you need to get CGPA of 8 from second year onwards.

Campus Life :

SOA Cup organized by Siksha O Anusandhan is an inter college sports event held in the month of December it includes various athletics sports. Majority of the events are held in winter. Cricket, futsal, online gaming and various other tournaments are also held in ITER. There is a library building where students can study and also borrow books, there is a separate floor where students can study with their laptops. The library contains books from all of the engineering department, and then there are thesis, journals and magazines available in plenty. The classrooms are spacious with each class equipped with a smart-board and air- conditioned. Some classes have cushioned benches while some are wooden one like in my class. There are various clubs in the campus like the Google Cloud Developers, Geek for geeks, 10x Coding Ninjas and then there is Codex, ITER's own official coding club, ITER Robotics Club, English club, modelling, dancing, drama, singing there are clubs for everything.

Hostel Facilities :

I have opted for a hostel, mine is a 3-seater non-AC room located off campus which is the only major drawback. If you want to opt for a hostel you need to mention it when applying for admission and then you get an e-mail to pay certain amount to confirm the booking. The hostels are affordable, mess fees is fixed 45000 yearly which is paid alongwith the hostel fees. Hostel fees varies with occupancy and type like mine one costs 65000 yearly. Every hostel has its own mess, but cannot go and eat in a different mess. The rooms given are good with each room Wi-Fi enabled. Each rooms has study table and chair for the individuals and cupboards. There are 2 washrooms in each floor. Some hostels even have their own playground like mine one. Since the summer here is very hot, it is good to have room in up to second floor.

Silicon university review

Placement Experience :

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

The Ready College

Placement Experience :

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
