So now I will tell about the aspects briefly and thoroughly. I appeared for Jee mains and got a rank of 2 lakhs. I applied for Ojee and I was getting mechanical engineering branch in VSSUT Burla. But I had a strong interest on coding so I opted for silicon as in the Ojee it is the topmost private college They take admission through Ojee and their own counselling. There are no personal interview GD/PI. The good aspects are 1. Academics is strict and good. 2.Some faculties are great. 3. Great coding environment. 4. Less fees compared to other private colleges like kiit iter. 5. Classrooms and labs are okayish. Bad aspects- 1.Some faculties are so rude . 2. Very Small campus . 3.Strict rules and regulations. 4.So much overload and less holidays. So overall it depends on you and your perspective.
So now I will give a detailed review of the curriculum. I am in btech so I can tell about it only. There are 5 btech branches- 1.Computer Science and engineering. 2. Electronics and Communication engineering. 3.Electronics and electrical engineering. 4. Electronics and Instrumentation engineering. 5.Electronics and communication engineering with VLSI. There is msc and bca/ mca cources also. I was interested in coding so I chose Cse. The faculties are average here. Some are old but some are not. Most faculties use hindi/odia to make the things understable which is good. There will be 6 subjects per semester and 4 labs. 1st year is common to every branches .You will be taught basic electrical electronics c programming etc. 2nd year onwards you will be studying your domain. You can clear your doubt in the consultancy hours. Saturday and Sundays are off. The exams are very strict .Don ever date to cheat. The consequences are worse. Overall the studies are good
It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.
The total academic fees per. year. is Rs 210000. But if your jee mains rank is good you can get scholarship ..Then you will have to pay 75000 per year. There are no separate lab, examination, etc fees .One time registration fees is Rs 9000. If you want a hostel then are the details are Ac(3 seater)-Rs38000 per semester Ac(4 seater)- Rs 30000 per semester Non-Ac(4 seater)- Rs 20000 per semester Guest. House( Attached toilet 2/3 seater)-Rs30000 per semester. It's totally depends on your choice Hostel registration fees is Rs 9000 which is also one time. Mess fees is Rs 22500 per semester. The guest meal rates are higher than normal meal. It's compulsory for the hostellers to register for the mess. All your dues will be added to your erp. There are also additional costs like supplementary/back papers (which is Rs500 per paper) and other fines, etc. So overall fees are not so high compared to other colleges. It is increasing year by year.
Now I will give detailed review about the college life. The campus is very small but you can still enjoy. There is a gym. There is cafeteria where you can get almost every food items . There is a well structured library and it has cubicles and silence maintained where you can get every required books. You can study too. Is has a famous skylab where you can o.literally everything like studying chilling eating reading sitting etc. There is ABD and the owner is very nice person. You can get your belongings from there . There are many fests like nirman zygon Rythmnova litfest etc. Nirman- It's the main techfest of our college. There are many competitions and cash prizes . Students from other colleges also come and take part. Zygon- It's the cultural event held every year. It has dance songs poems speech etc. You will be enjoying with your friends in the north lawn.
Yes I opted for the hostel and mess. I opted for non-ac (4 seater). In the non AC rooms you will get a almirah bed , table chair and mattress. There is no charging point for non AC rooms In the AC rooms will get Ac bed table extra light and charging point . Overally the hostel Life is good .you will enjoy and make memories. The mess food is decent. It has veg and non veg canteen. You have to register accordingly.(Meal by meal) They provide 3 time meals.
After completion of this course go for national health mission recruitment In odisha opsc amo exam conducted many students were passed the exam from our college and got posted. You can go for many pharmacy company 100 percent of students getting placement
There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.
for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.
Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.
Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .
The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.
Course Curriculum is well structured ,in first year, evry branch subjects are mostly common and from second year onwards they taught branch specific subjects. Faculties are highly educated and they are also clear their engineering from best colleges
Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
