- The area of the campus is very small to be called as a university.
- Entertainment activities like sports and Fests were very rare.
Remarks :
I had scored around 88.3 Percentile in JEE. If i was applying for specialization other than CSE in government colleges, then i would have definitely got a seat in their curriculum. That kind of percentile does not get you a seat in computer science in government colleges. And i wanted to study CSE in any cost. This college is known for its strictness and strong technical education. It has a lot of experience faculties and industry tie-ups which helps students to get opportunities for internships and training programs. There is currently no bad aspects as such but the fact that it is new as a university is the topic of discussion. For the selection process, one has to appear for the JEE exam and after the result, he/she has to apply for the college in OJEE counselling. According to the rank, One can get the branch(If percentile is more, then one can join any branch of his/her choice).
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because of my interest in Computer science since childhood. I studied JAVA in class 10 and i really find it very interesting. If the person is really having interest on this field, then he/she can reach the greatest heights. All the faculties of Silicon are having highest degrees. Some are PhD holders and some have done Post Graduation in M Tech/ME/MBA. To review the teaching method, I would rate 8 on a scale of 10. The teaching method was quite good. They all were following the course curriculum and completing the modules on time. The best thing is whatever they teach, Only that comes in the semester exams(No random topics/questions). As we all know, A semester lasts for 6 months. But to be vey honest, A semester gets completed here in 4 and a half months. They give an academic calendar. The dates mentioned are very accurate. So, Exams were held very timely with proper gaps between subjects so that a student can revise easily. Difficulty level of exams - 9/10.
Internships Opportunities :
I had opted for a training conducted at SDI, Bhubaneswar conducted by RISE India. The course i did is JAVA Full stack. It really helped me to crack the placements. In 7th semester, we got less internship opportunities. They were from Glossity(Frontend developer Intern, Backend developer intern), Squibix(Frontend developer Intern, Backend Developer Intern), Zeon AI(AI/ML developer intern). But in 8th semester we got many internship opportunities(Interns cum full time employees) from PWC, Surya Tech, Deloitte, etc.
Placement Experience :
To be eligible for most of the placements, One needs to score a CGPA of 7.5 or more. Also 75% of the companies have a criteria of allowing those students who have secured 60 percent or more in 12th or diploma. But there are companies who give a relaxation of CGPA around 6.5 and 50 percent in 12th. Year gaps are also a issue for the placements. If you have a gap year between 12th and B. Tech, Then you are eligible for around 90 percent of campus placements. If you have 2 gap years, then you are eligible for around 80 percent of placements. MNCs have a relaxation of 2 gap years. Also, to be eligible for campus placements, you should have not more than one active backlog(Silicon gives enough opportunities to clear backlogs). Some recruiters that visited us are Accenture(hired 17 students), Genpact(25 students), PWC(15), Deloitte(12). But most students got selected in TCS NQT(around 100 students). Approximately 85 percent students are placed from our batch. I am currently in TCS.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In 2020, The tuition fees was Rs. 1,50,000/- per year. For the same academic batch, The price does not increases(for the 4 years we paid a total amount of Rs. 6,00,000/-). But it eventually increased every academic year(2021 - 1,60,000/- per year) and now for the 2024 joining batch, The fees is approximately Rs. 1,73,000/- per year.
Campus Life :
Campus life in silicon is great. The faculties will be giving lot of assignments to do. Other than that, You get some extra time to do other activities as well. Silicon organizes around 3-4 fests in a year. The main one is Zygon. The library facility is great. There are variety of books in the library. One can opt them for a fortnight free of cost. And if he/she wants to have it for a semester, then there will be some charges(50 rupees for a book for a duration of 6 months). Intercollege sports competition happens in silicon. The sports include Cricket, Badminton, Basketball(Silicon is known for its best basketball team), Running, etc. Also there are varieties of sports clubs available. A gym is also present inside the campus. Silicon has an ERP system where students can pay their fees online and check their attendance, results, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
I did not opted for a hostel but i had an overview of how the hostel is from my hostel friends. The food quality is really good with reasonable rates. For hostel residents, They can scan their ID cards and have their meal. This is because they have already subscribed for the food. But for Day Boarders, they have to pay for the coupons on the spot and after that by showing the coupons in the canteen, They can have their meal. If you rent a room or pg outside, Then the average amount that you have to pay is Rs. 6000/- per month (including food).

After completion of this course go for national health mission recruitment In odisha opsc amo exam conducted many students were passed the exam from our college and got posted. You can go for many pharmacy company 100 percent of students getting placement

There campus placement here are ok startups came here and many big mncs like tcs, flipkart etc. Some department get companies like the MBA but that is an exceptional case. No other department participate in campus drive or placement cell. Students need to apply off campus to get placed.

for placement students need to get atleast 7cgpa. The placement is decent where most students around 85% get placed . Main companies are accenture, tcs, infosys , cognizant etc. Highest package was 9lpa and average was around 4lpa . I plan to work in one of the companies i get placed in.

Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements from third year onwards on a condition that the student has good skills and created good projects. Companies are still coming to ITER since July, various companies like Wipro, Xerox, Paytm, Flipkart, DELL, Microsoft, TCS Infosys and various other MNCs and startups come to the campus for placements and also provide pre placement offers. Currently I have no idea about the highest and average packages as per the company and the profiles offered, but I know that the highest package offered in Iter has been 43 lakhs pa and the average package is around 6lacs-8lacs. There are certain criteria set by the college for the students to be eligible to sit in the placement, out of that more than 85% to 90% of eligible students have secured placements. Students also get internships from second year. After I get a degree and if I land a suitable job then it's okay otherwise I will look to get into civil services or defence.

It has average placements. They also provide training for that. You will be eligible from 4th year. They also provide practice schools where the eligibility is 8 cgpa. They also provide training in the 3rd and 4th year. The companies which I know are Infosys Accenture Capgemini Genpact Mindfire solutions Mindtree. Tcs. pwC Deloitte Inovaare Tata Power Cosmovolt Tech Mahindra etc. They mostly provide the packages in the range 3.5-6 lpa ..The average oncampus placement this year was 4.5 lpa and the highest was 14.5 lpa. The 30 lpa shown was off campus. So you can get jobs according to your skills and cgpa . Overally the placement is just average but roi may be better.

Actually as I am a undergraduate I don't exactly know how much is the eligibility criteria for placement but I know that the guest lecturers are given according to number of classes they do in a month My plans after getting a degree is to give jrf net /gate and to further study in reasearch lines.

Eligibility criteria for placements are based on cgpa cut off and no backlogs are allowed. A few companies that came for recruitment are Infosys, Tcs , Accenture , Cognizant , Dell , Deloitte . Profiles offered are mostly of software engineer and average package is around 600000 per annum . My plan after getting degree is to go into software engineering job .

The placement scenario is quite good as most of the students get placed before the completion of course with a decent package. Average package is around 8lpa and the highest package till now is 60+ lpa.

Course Curriculum is well structured ,in first year, evry branch subjects are mostly common and from second year onwards they taught branch specific subjects. Faculties are highly educated and they are also clear their engineering from best colleges

Yes, we do have a placement cell over here and is quite good. Many well-known companies come to recruit their employees, and the companies are quite satisfied over our senior's hard work and smartness. Many companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Delloyd, etc., come to give good placements to the students at the college. I don't know the exact numbers, but the highest package was around 45 lakhs, and the average package was around 5 lakhs per annum. The average percentage of students getting placements is roughly around 70% to 80%. Currently for me, I don't have a solid plan to what to do but you never know some miracle might happen. Just joking, I do have a plan for the near future, but I am little worried about the future that on one before me start that initiative that I have thought about it.
