Remarks :
I chose Chandigarh University because I scored 67.8% in Class 12, did not qualify for JEE and could not get admission to another college. At that time, it was my last option. I took the CUCET exam to get a scholarship and received 30%. My admission was based on my eligibility in Class 12.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose B.E. in CSE because I wanted to study computers and software development. Most of my teachers are young, and some seem like freshers. Some use PPTs and whiteboards, while others mainly read PPTs to complete the syllabus. When I ask doubts, some say these are basic topics from Classes 11 and 12. There are around 70 students in each lecture hall. Exams are like MST 1, Lab MST, MST 2, practical exams and EST, assignments, worksheets, viva sessions and surprise tests. The frequent assessments create pressure and leave me with less time to learn additional skills.
Internships Opportunities :
I had done internship opportunity with Wipro with a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month. I also worked on a Cloud and AI-based project where I developed APIs and worked on the backend. My work involved building backend functionality and connecting different parts of the application through APIs.
Placement Experience :
I joined the TPP programme by paying an additional fee of ?11,000. Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini and Virtusa visit for recruitment. In 2026 Accenture selected 200 students The highest package is around ?22–25 LPA, while the average is approximately ?5–8 LPA. Around 35–40% of students get placed. I was selected by Virtusa with a package of ?7 LPA, and I plan to start my professional career there after graduation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee for B.E. in CSE is ?1,20,000 per semester. it remain same for all eight semesters, the total tuition fee would be ?9,60,000 before scholarship. The admission fee is ?5,000 and the security fee is ?1,500. Students also pay ?2,500 per semester as examination fees. The Training and Placement Programme (TPP) costs an additional ?11,000 for students who want to take placement from college. The university offers scholarships through the CUCET exam. I received a 30% scholarship. Students need to maintain an overall SGPA above 7.5 to continue receiving the scholarship in the following year. Otherwise, it will get discontinued.
Campus Life :
I enjoy campus life as there are many events, clubs and opportunities to spend time with friends. The CSE department has more than 4,500 students, so some areas get crowded. Cultural fests, CU Fest, night parties, Dandiya Night and DJ nights take place on campus. Events happen frequently, sometimes almost every week. The library, especially in D Block, is very large and has thousands of books. Classrooms have fixed desks, AC, fans and projectors that teachers use for PPTs. To play badminton, football and cricket on campus there are large playgrounds, many clubs, cultural programmes and hackathons. Boys and girls can sit together in class and socialise freely. Famous singers like Arijit Singh, Shirley Setia and Jubin Nautiyal have performed at the university.
Hostel Facilities :
I applied for hostel accommodation through the official CUIMS portal. A three-seater non-AC room costs around ?1,20,000 per year. The mess food is okay, but it is often very oily, and sometimes the rotis are burnt. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Facilities include Wi-Fi, a gym and playgrounds. Common washrooms are available on each floor There are many PGs and rented rooms around University ?5,000 per month with facilities, depending on the accommodation.

Placement Experience :
To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.

Placements in University is good. Companies like Zscalar, TCS, Reliance come to our University every year and give opportunities to the student to make their future bright. Although visits of these companies reduced in 2023.

My college experience
Course Curriculum Overview :
I was highly interested in mechanical engineering. I loved car sports like f1 or nascar, thats why i had chosen this branch. Faculty is highly educated with PhDs from prestigious Institutions and their way of teaching is quite good. Mid semester exams are conducted after 2 months of beginning of new semester and then end semester exams with few assessments during semester. As of now there is no effect of fee hike policy and cost to study.
