Admission to the college is based on the admission test. Around 2-3lakh sit for the exam. There are only 50 seats. There is an interview round. The questions in the admission test include both objectives and subjective. The best way to prepare is to solve problems. Also, make sure that you have a habit of writing mathematical proofs rigorously.
I did my BMath from ISI. The main reason to choose this place is because this is the hub of mathematics. The professors are friendly and always eager to discuss math. Exams at ISI are generally more difficult than at other colleges. However, seniors are always there to help you out. ISI provides scholarships to everyone and there are no tuition fees.
I have been part of two research internships, viz., SN Bhatt Memorial Fellowship at the International Centre of Theoretical Sciences, Bangalore, and Big Data Summer Institute at the University of Michigan, USA.
Most people come here to do math. People do get placed in jobs. The average package is around 25 lakhs. However, most people want to go for PhDs. Many people have gone to schools like Stanford, Harvard, UCLA, Princeton, and so on. I also aspire to do a PhD at one of the top schools.
The campus is smaller than most colleges. Around 150-200 people are there in campus. It seems like a family. The lush greenery is awesome. Plus there are clubs run by students. Hostel and mess fee are quite cheap.
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
