Good student-professor ratio, great research environment, some of the best faculty in mathematics, and no tuition fees are the factors that made me choose this university. For admission to the program, an admission test named the ISI entrance exam is organized consisting of 2 stages - MCQ and Subjective. The MCQ questions are pretty much standard, whereas the Subjective questions have an olympiad flavor to them. Going through the book "TOMATO" gives a pretty good idea of the questions and solving the said book pretty much prepares you for the exam. The cutoff is roughly around 190-210 out of 360, where the MCQ paper has a weightage of 120 and the Subjective has 80. The total marks of a candidate is 1×(Marks in MCQ)+3×(Marks in Subjective).
All professors are Ph.D holders and stalwart researchers. There is almost no cost involved in studying and we also get a stipend worth ?5000 per month. The term exams are very timely and the difficulty level varies depending on the professor taking the course. However to fare well in the exams students must spend atleast 80 hours per course in a 4 month long term on the 5 courses of a semester. This boils down to 3-4 hours of self study daily.
The internship required me to act as a research assistant for 3 months and find proof of some results in a specific mathematical field. I was paid fairly well for my time and was given free accommodation and food as well as my travel costs were reimbursed.
Everyone opting to take placements gets placed with handsome salaries. However, most students opt to go for higher studies and eventually go on to complete their Ph.D from renowned universities all around the world.
The mess food is amazing and cheap. It costs roughly 3100 for the entire breakfast, lunch, and dinner package. The library has a plethora of books and journals for students to read and borrow any time they want. We have a Math Club and a Music club that are run by students themselves. The Math Club in recent years has been a gala success. The annual fest of ISI is named Chaos and organized in late March or early April. There is a football and cricket ground, alongside a badminton court, a basketball court, a table tennis room, and a volleyball court.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
