College of Art is a government college affiliated with DU, and repudated college for professional art studies. Also many other public colleges in Delhi are very expensive. CoA is located in a very safe locality being situated in front of supreme court of India. Admission process has improved alot since 5 years back. During my admission we had to roam around and wait for hours to submit the documents. For the examination test, there were two parts - practical & theory. All test are different for different specializations, such as mine was Applied Arts, so my practical test was composition and still life drawing, and theory contained MCQ of art history and general knowledge.
The course was very exciting for us who have always dreamt of studying art. We get to try new mediums, artforms and learn new conecpts. We had weekly modules in which we had to complete an assignment and Submit it at the end of the week. But I felt the most of the courses were very conventional and traditional inspite the fact that even that was something new for me, but we had to paint the poster by hand when we can just do it digitally. There was hardly and focus given to new graphic softwares and tools. But now I have realised the understanding of concepts was more important as its the foundation to learn any new tools and stuff. I have experienced this gap of a degree scholar artist and those who just learn some softwares from tutioning institutes. There's a huge difference in their works
No, there weren't any internships from college's side but teacher's keep updating us aboutany opportunities on informal groupchats. We get to participate in government organised competition and contests rewarded with acknowledgement and prizes too.
This was a major setback that their placement cell is very weak. Only a few companies come and some apply for the jobs. Many students tend to study ahead and get master's degree too from CoA and other colleges too.
Going to college of Art was amazing, the campus is filled with different types of artworks exhibitied by the students. The building is a bit old and the classes are fine. The staff was very diveresed, some were PhD, some guest teachers and many alumni. Only five days working, students could hang back to work in the college at late hours with permission. The Annual exhibition is something everybody waits for each year. Every body display their works and the campus is filled with them, every stairs, classrooms, ceilings, building, etc. there's a gym, canteen, basketball court, skating area and many hangouts places in the campus and many gallery and theatres near the college. Also in third year, we get to go on a mandatory educational trip to many historical places.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
