I chose Deshbandhu College primarily for its rich legacy under the University of Delhi, esteemed core science faculty, and vibrant academic culture. Post the structural division that created independent academic zones like Ramanujan College, Deshbandhu has neatly optimized its infrastructure into dedicated multi-block facilities (Blocks A, B, and C) to comfortably accommodate its student body. ?The admission process was entirely merit-based through the centralized Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal based on CUET (Common University Entrance Test) scores. There were no separate Group Discussions (GD), Personal Interviews (PI), or college-level written tests for admission, ensuring complete transparency and equal opportunity.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Industrial Chemistry curriculum is well-structured, featuring an interdisciplinary blend of 12 Chemistry, 3 Physics, and 3 Mathematics modules alongside practical Skill Enhancement courses like Python. The schedule is intensive, requiring full-day dedication balancing core theory and rigorous lab work. The faculty consists of highly qualified professors, including GATE rankers and domain experts. Senior faculty in Analytical Chemistry offer master's-level practical mastery. Practical labs are equipped with core instruments like pH meters, Colorimeters, Conductometers, and Vacuum Pumps. Lab staff enforce strict apparatus accountability and safety registers, which instills great laboratory discipline and research integrity in students.
Internships Opportunities :
During my tenure at Deshbandhu College, I went through the selection process for Agile Capital Services (ACS Pvt. Ltd.) and was officially offered an Internship position in the Marketing & Human Resources (HR) department (with joining scheduled for May 2024). The role encompassed market research, strategy development, candidate screening, digital branding, and client engagement tasks. The stipend structure offered by recruiters for such corporate internship programs generally ranges from performance-based incentives to fixed stipends (around ?5,000 to ?10,000 per month depending on project deliverables and performance milestones).Additionally, we engaged in academic project tasks involving analytical research, dataset evaluations, and documentation, which provided great exposure to professional corporate environments.
Placement Experience :
The placement cell is active. Companies like Agile Capital Services, Chegg, and Wipro visit. Eligibility requires 60%+ marks. Highest CTC offered is around 8 LPA and Average package is 4.5 LPA. Around 40-50% students get placed, while science graduates prefer higher studies (M.Sc / B.Ed). My plan is pursuing higher education and managing my student e-portfolio platform.
Campus Life :
Campus life at Deshbandhu is full of energy, cultural richness, and vibrant student bonding! From canteen tea sessions to lively interactions across campus, the dynamic is great. The college hosts annual cultural festivals like 'Sabrang' (usually around Feb/March), along with active societies like Dramatics (Nukkad Natak), NCC, and NSS. The central library is well-stocked with essential books and journals. A major highlight of student initiative in our batch was our active digital presence. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
Maitreyi college is so underrated

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
