As my college that is Kamala Nehru College comes under University of Delhi and is under a unified college structure so it follows a singular structural procedure of admission strictly through the CUET UG scores only. There are no other way to take admission in the college except cuet ug scores. After taking and scoring in the cuet ug exam you have to apply to the Delhi university portal and according to your eligibility it will show you all the subjects and courses that you choose from. It is entirely on you what subject you want to pursue and after that you have to set your preference sheet for courses and colleges. Then the university provide you the course and college according to your scores. The seats fill up quite fast in the first 3 rounds of the seat allocation and if any seats are left the spot round takes place. To score well in cuet pg exams you have to study your 12th courses books well and the question paper is set mainly from CBSE books so focus mainly in that.
This college that is Kamala Nehru College had a good reputation for the humanities stream courses and subjects specially history and political science so when it was alloted to me I was happy about it and also the area in which it is located is very safe for girls as the only other college located here in gargi which is also a women's college also the Faculty is super supportive and very knowledgeable. They are always there to help you with any issues or problems that you would be facing. They also teach us through various methods like by using ppts, blackboards, laptops, movies discussion, book reviews and all other activities. Its fun and also a nice experience. The semester exam are more or less timely like the odd semester exams are held in December and January and the even semester exams are held in May and June do it is somewhat same every year.
Yeah I have opted for internships that are offered by the government ministry. The monthly stipend was 12,000 rupees and my main job was to keep the records and maintain them properly. It was offered by the national museum under the home ministry and it was a nice experience and I learned a great deal of things from there.
The internship opportunities are mainly available for the commerce departments and many companies also come to offer internships here. For humanities departments to internships comes mainly from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and home ministry.
The yearly fees of Kamala Nehru College differs department to department and year to year. My course yearly fees was 14,000 rupees and for the whole 3 years period it was 45,000 rupees in total. They don't give breakdown of the fees structure but give it as the total fees that we have to pay. The examination form and fees have to be paid separately and every semester at most the examination fees would be 1300 rupees depending on the papers you have chosen and the total number of papers you are offered. If you failed a paper and have to appear again then the reappearing fees has to be paid too. The General and OBC categories have to pay more or less same fees. The SC/ST categories have fees concessions also there are financial aids and scholarships available for students who cannot afford the fees of the college and want financial support to continue their studies. To avail these financial aid Facilities they have to fill the form and have to appear in an interview after they pass.
Kamala Nehru College hostel The annual fest known as Ullas, it is a 2 or 3 days fest where celebrities or artists come to perform and there are many societies from across University of Delhi who also come to participate in various competitions, also there are many food stalls, clothes stalls and accessories stalls set up in the campus. It is mainly in March or April. The library has two floors and there is a huge collection of books and journals available in it. The newspaper also comes daily in the library and one can sit and read in the library in their free periods. The sports infrastructure of our college has improved a lot in recent years with the basketball court renovated and the new addition of tennis court in the ground, also activities and sports like cricket and football is also played here. There are a lot of societies such as the English debate society, the quiz society, the hindi debate society, the fashion society, gandhi study circle, NCC, NSS, civil service forum, etc
There is no availability of hostel from the college but there are many pgs (paying guests) available nearby the college. With non ac rooms pgs range starting from 11,000 rupees per month and ac rooms pgs starting from 15,000 rupees per month.
Placement of our college is pretty nice. There is also a placement cell in our college to deal with placement activities. They inform us about the companies and we have to contact with placement cell and also your resume is must .
The eligibility criteria for placement is that the student must clear 2 year exam. The highest package as per the company and profiles is 10 lakh per year and average package as per the company is 5 lakh per year
They are good placement and good opportunities which available in our college many every year a placement sale comes to our college and there are the sale and the pic a student who are interested intensive and take them and the placement is so I also and sometimes you understand some be company also come to for the placement and so it is there placement
The campus placement is according to the skill of an individual but the course he or she is pursuing also matters and placement are also according to the college reputation so this affects companies a lot
Offcourse you will pay a fees online. If you take a addmission in school of open learning (sol) you can pay a fees maximum 7000-8000 something. School of open learning (sol) gives you a opportunity of scholarship, financial assistance and campus jobs too.
So, the course I am enrolled in does not have much for related jobs and internship. Therefore I cannot help you with this one. Also, as I am willing to pursue b.ed post graduation so I am not eyeing jop opportunity currently. But the college does have an internship cell.
Last months a package of 49 lakhs was a secured by a du student and basically avg package is 8-12 lakhs and highest is 80 lakhs . 6.0-7.0 is average cgpa for placement. My plans after the graduation is to preparation for upsc as i want to be a beaurocrat du has best syllabus for preparation of upsc and many bureaucrats had completed their degree from du. One of largest producer of beaurocrats
As my colleges provided good placement if student have skill and capabilities. Like our college provide average package of 6-7 lakh per annum. My plans after degree is that i have to work on multinational company.
In present college life the placement and job opportunity is very bad and very slow process. In one year some companies come in college and offer the very low budget salary job. And the student not like these type of job.
