Likes
- Beautiful Campus with cleanliness, greenery and so much natural habitat.
- Hostel Infrastructure is old but, the designs and the cleanliness being maintained in the hostel premises is very good. There are two main big hostels, including the Mega Boys hostel and the Mega Ladies Hostel, They are constructed recently, they have beautiful Architecture.
- Architecture of most of buildings are excellent. Faculties help you in need.
- Stationery shop facilities inside most of the Hostels.
Dislikes
- Due to heavy rainfall in Kerala, most of the monsoon semester will be in rain.
- Some sports facilities could be better. Irregular bus facility inside the campus.
- The campus is segregated in multiple parts, which makes it hard to explore the whole campus.
- Institution has its own swimming pool but it is non functioning most of the time.
Remarks :
Is National Institute of Technology has multiple aspects such as good placements, research opportunities, an Alumni Network, Extra Curricular Activities, sports facilities and many more. One more thing is about Exposure, you will get a lot of exposure in terms of culture variance, environment and many new experiences. NITC is widespread on around 300 acres with densely bound vegetation all over the campus. To into NITs, one should prepare and get a good percentile in JEE MAINS. It is a competitive exam conducted all over India. My source of preparation was mainly through online platforms and YouTube only. NIT Calicut is located in Kerala. It is ranked in the top 5 NITs in India according to NIRF ranking in 2023.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had a specific interest in machines and their mechanics. Hence I opted for mechanical engineering. Although we mostly get college based on rank, so one choosing branch is not in that control, unless you have a very good rank. The course curriculum was revised in 2023. According to this new curriculum, all the branches will be taught subjects from the respective departments from the 1st semester itself, whereas earlier all the branches had to study common subjects for the first 2 semesters. This curriculum change made the learning more effective, as one gets more options to select electives of his interest in the future semesters. Most of the faculties are doctorate degrees from various reputed institutions such as IITs, foreign institutes and many more. Each course to designed in such a way to make the learning more effective. Exams were conducted timely. One gets a chance to opt for multiple government and private scholarships through the institute.
Internships Opportunities :
Various companies provide chances of internships, some of which are Accenture, Amazon, American Express, Atkins, Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto Limited, Barclays and many more. Most of the companies offer pre-placement letters also, to most of the students.
Placement Experience :
NITC provides great opportunities in placements, internships and research opportunities. The Faculties and the great alumni network cater to all the needs of students for growing in future. There is a dedicated Career and placement cell, that focuses on preparing students for maximum placements. An Entrepreneurship cell is also established. Overall 85% of the students who applied were placed with an average package of around 14 lakhs per annum. For the Mechanical Engineering department, the data stated that 87% were placed with an average package of 10 lakhs.
Campus Life :
There are mainly two big fests, TATHVA and RAGAM. The former is Tech Fest and the latter one Cultural Fest. For this year 2023-24, both events were cancelled due to protests in the campus. The library here is quite large, accommodating thousands of books and various research papers. Digital access to library books is also provided. The Digital Library section offers access to the laptop network centre. Multiple sports with decent facilities are played inside the campus. Sports such as cricket, football, khokho, hockey, badminton, basketball, etc. The institute has its own gymnasium. There are various clubs including tech clubs, cultural clubs, etc.; the Institute undergoes multiple programs, over the whole year, most of which are conducted wholly by students. There is a digital portal named as IMS, run by NITC and a Hostel app used for circulating information and details. All types of food are served over various mess facilities. The main campus is surrounded by various shops, café and restaurants.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
